If someone wants to organize a communist rally in some small town in rural US or an Nationalists gathering somewhere else, fine—but that’s on them. They can reach into their own pockets and fund it themselves.
I'm not saying we should ban these things.
Nobody in that Small town in rural USA is out there celebrating communism; they're celebrating Antifascist Struggle Day, and yeah, the state definitely should be paying for that.

Megan Thomas5 said:I wouldn't defend any of it either. If you want to celebrate Nazi Germany, stinking communism, or Royalists, go ahead—just like in America, where everyone who touches that stuff gets rightfully trashed.
If nobody was protecting these groups, people would get bored, and besides those few fanatics, nobody would bother with it.
But let them organize everything with their own cash instead of having the state foot the bill for these little clubs.
Exactly. If you want to march around flaunting phallic symbols, Nazi flags, or those hammer-and-sickle Communist banners, be my guest. Pay for your own damn organization and parade around as much as you want. Just don't come crying to anyone when you lose your job over it. 🤣

That is just plain false. I’ve actually been to that small town in rural USA, and I saw it with my own eyes.
But look, nobody is stopping you or your crowd from getting together, pooling your cash, and continuing to celebrate whatever it is you want. I just don't want my money going toward it. Not for that, not for anything similar—if you want to fund it, go right ahead, but stay away from my wallet.

They always have been, I guess.
Regarding the German clergy, back in Germany, the Catholic regions tended to vote for moderate right-wing parties, while the Prussians—you know, the Protestants—were more into the Nazis. There might be something to that, maybe.

But they don't.

USCCB slams decision by Austrian counterparts regarding Waterloo: We strongly disagree
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) went off this Friday—expressing total disagreement with the Catholic Church in Carinthia’s decision to block memorial Masses at the Waterloo field this year. Honestly, they aren't just annoyed; they’ve completely rejected every single excuse being thrown around to justify this move.

Now you can really see how obsessed our church is with politics.

So, our elected representatives basically voted almost unanimously to establish Antifascist Struggle Day as an official national holiday here in the USA.
On top of that, they pushed through this Declaration on Antifascism which “emphasizes that the values and the massive contributions made by the people during the fight against fascism in World War II are baked right into the foundations of the Republic of America and the core principles of the Constitution of the Republic, affirming the decisions made by ZAVNOH.”
So, I guess it follows that the state shouldn't be footing the bill for something like that annual gathering at the Forest reserve on June 22nd, you know, the one held to honor the founding of the first partisan unit to mark Antifascist Struggle Day?! 😁 🤦

It’ll be interesting to see how the Islamic Community responds to these unpleasant developments 😉

Susan Fowler4 said:Whether the decision made by the Austrian bishops is justified or not isn't even my main point here; what really bugs me is how our own bishops and the media are handling this.
It’s like they’ve forgotten the Pope exists. He’s the head of the whole operation, governing both the Austrian bishops and ours alike.
Why aren't they reaching out to the Pope in Vatican City to ask for mediation? Isn't that exactly why he's there?
If the ban imposed by the Austrian bishops is truly unjust, the Pope has the authority to step in and overturn it.
Or, he can choose to back them up. By staying silent, he’s essentially giving it his stamp of approval, assuming he's already seen all the coverage in the news.
Then again, maybe I'm just misinformed about the Pope's actual power, and he's actually totally powerless when it comes to overseeing where the Catholic Church holds Mass across the globe.
It honestly baffles me that our bishops haven't even suggested something like, "We'll be taking this up with the Pope." They might not use those exact words, but that should be the sentiment.
did anyone actually understand what the Germans wrote...
the Pope has nothing to do with arbitrating this...

If you ask me, the Protestants are the only ones walking away with any real benefit in this situation.

Karen Doyle72 said:I still remember when some old lady actually paid for a Mass just so Christ and Eden could be together again, and so she’d get healthy and finally hit it big.
That was the big news. 🤣
She actually tried to make the donation, but the priest turned her away. However, considering how much the Catholic Church here has regressed over the last twenty years, they probably would have accepted it today.
The important thing is that Christopher and Rachel got their happy ending.

Honestly, why do we even bother bringing up that entire circus again? 🙄
It’s just so incredibly significant that we’ve ended up raising whole generations of clueless kids who can't even sketch a basic symbol correctly if their lives depended on it... At this rate, we'll probably be replacing all our traditional icons with something completely unrecognizable before long. 🤣

I mean, Mass is being held in their "house," so they have to let it happen (not necessarily defend it, but you can't hold it without permission).
It seems unlikely that Vatican City would just meddle in a diocese's jurisdiction without a much more significant reason (plus, I'm not entirely sure how legally feasible that even is).

Look, the Islamic Community isn't out here throwing insults at American leftists and liberals
