See, unlike your little theory... mine is actually built on real, verifiable facts... 😉

Unless, of course, you're trying to get caught... which is apparently what some researchers out in certain parts of the world do—you know, sending the same study under different titles to multiple journals all at once... though occasionally you might see a corrigendum. If you actually had the publication record you claim to have, you'd realize what you're saying is impossible, and honestly, it's pretty telling that you didn't even bother addressing the comparison I made...

There was this Italian songwriter who used the same lyrics in two different songs performed by two different artists...
caused a massive scandal over plagiarism... but since it wasn't ruled as such, the song ended up winning a festival...

The ethics of using and leveraging someone else's work is always debatable...
Plagiarism is a different beast entirely...

There's very little actual "intellectual adventuring" going on... mostly just retelling things in your own words... and that kind of work has passed before... and it'll keep passing...

After all the Hollywood scandals with stars being harassed, they want us to believe careers aren't built in bed...

Academia isn't immune to playing the field either...

Read this:

If the law says you have to cite the source for every single sentence taken from a published paper, then you damn well do.
It's not about what you or I think... we aren't the ones who matter here. You can't just take some recycled paper and reuse it a hundred times without citing where it came from.
What would that even look like?
A scientist writes one article and then just tweaks a few words every once in a while?

My artistic impression... they're clinging to individual trees just to pretend they're saving the forest...

I mean, yeah, I totally agree... assuming you aren't a right-winger, anyway. That's how it works, right?😁

It’s not about our personal opinions here...

I couldn't agree more! But what happens when the specific law or regulation doesn't explicitly require it? That's the real question in this particular case and situation.

Dr. Pavo Barišić tells CNN: 'It is now crystal clear whose scientific credibility was actually at stake and what the true motives were.'

Press release from Augsburg

The official statement from the University of Augsburg reads:

"In February 2017, formal complaints were filed against Prof. Dr. Pave Barišić regarding his dissertation titled 'world and ethos. Hegelian views on the fall of the West,' which he submitted during the summer semester of 1989 at the then Faculty of Arts and University of Augsburg.

Upon receiving the final reports from both university committees tasked with investigating these allegations, the University of Augsburg has reached its final conclusion regarding the matter in question:

A) There was no violation of the University of Augsburg's general 'Principles for Handling Suspected Scientific Misconduct,' and consequently,

B) It cannot be determined whether any violations occurred under the Promotion Regulations of the former Faculty of Arts and University of Augsburg that would justify accusing Mr. Barišić of intentional fraud or warranting further disciplinary action."

I highly recommend opening this link and reading the full text—with some perspective:

The man has now filed a lawsuit, reportedly seeking $2,000 in damages.
If I were in his shoes, I'd be asking for ten times that amount and donating every cent to charity.
He’s been dragged through the mud by the media and even by people here on this forum, all based on these baseless accusations. He deserves way more than what he's asking for.

Yeah, right. It "can't be determined" because the original of Barišić's dissertation isn't public and his mentor passed away, so apparently, you can't prove fraudulent intent. How convenient! You just ignore the fact that most of the work was blatant plagiarism.

He’s just bitter after being dragged through the mud by the media and this forum a thousand times over.

Oh sure, "double-dipping" Barišić is the absolute moral compass of our society. We definitely need more people like him, don't we?

Seriously though; are you actually expecting someone who openly brags about helping fake the results of an independence referendum to suddenly stop defending a plagiarist, just because some "prestigious" university claims it wasn't plagiarism but merely a case of gross negligence and incompetence?

That link has absolutely nothing to do with what Barišić actually did. Augsburg CONFIRMED the plagiarism, so you really need to learn the difference between an action and the consequences of that action... Barišić isn't going to sue because he knows he'll lose hands down.

Could you maybe dive a bit deeper into this referendum business—specifically regarding this alleged rigging? You can always take it over to the forums if you prefer.😉

Gospodja basically admitted that back when she was sitting on that independence referendum committee, she spent the entire night marking ballots "yes" just to make sure the vote actually went through.
And there you have it—the perfect visual representation of those Hadadezh fans.
If they’re actually brave enough to go public with stuff like this without worrying about the fallout, it makes you wonder what else they're getting away with behind closed doors.

I had a screenshot of that post floating around for a bit, but I ended up deleting it.
Maybe one of the experts around here who actually knows what they're talking about can drop a link?

The other guy. Zovko.
I don't have any info regarding Đikić.

Honestly, if you want to see who's actually being malicious or acting like a rat, just click this link and read the whole thing:

Alright, look, does anyone here actually know what counts as plagiarism? I mean, seriously, can't a person just "plagiarize" themselves? Does anyone here even have a degree or deal with grad school theses? I always cited my sources whenever it made sense, and if I'm following this logic correctly, apparently citing your own previous work is now considered plagiarism... Give me a break. It’s just enough to make a guy lose his mind 😵

There is actually a specific term for this: self-plagiarism. It happens when someone takes their own previously published work and attempts to pass it off as an entirely new, original piece. In this case, the individual wasn't just mentioning their past research—their earlier work actually constitutes a significant portion of the material being presented as part of this doctoral dissertation, all without any mention that it was being cited from their own prior publications.

This thread is only 10 pages long.
If you actually went to college, reading 10 pages shouldn't be an issue for you.

Are you absolutely positive this wasn't about the referendum for joining the European Union?
Or maybe one of those elections where Mason pulled off a win?

Stop reading Dejan Jović's articles. He pushes this kind of absolute nonsense.
With a 92% "YES" vote, it really would have taken all night to fake that much...

Look, buddy, your colleague was kind enough to drop some links for you.
Enjoy digging through the "hard work" of our dear party comrade.

Here, look for yourselves:

It’s funny how you’re always the first one jumping to defend the Criminals and their legal team.

Once you've actually read it, I'll be waiting for that apology.
