The Kingdom of Sweden is officially granting US Homeland Security the authority to station officers at the Stockholm airport permanently, providing them with full access to their own firearms. These American "customs and security controls" operating right on Swedish soil are intended to intercept suspected terrorists—including those labeled "cyber-terrorists"—alongside various other individuals flagged for criminal behavior... though it's worth noting that these watchlists might just as easily catch whistle-blowers and their supporters if they happen to be accused of having "stolen information." It brings to mind how The Department of Homeland Security declared in 2013 that “ The unlawful disclosure of classified Information by WikiLeaks in The Summer of 2010 Has rightfully renewed The Department ’ sa focus on risk Management.”

If you're planning on spinning this into some wild New World Order or One World Government conspiracy theory, please just stop before you even get started...

Just because someone gets a visa for the USA doesn't mean they're actually getting into the country. Entry into the USA is decided right there on the spot, at the border control when you land at a US airport.

To avoid all that mess where people buy expensive tickets and travel all this way only to get rejected during immigration, the USA started doing screenings in the departure countries. That way, a person basically gets a guarantee that they'll actually be allowed into the USA..

So, I guess it's not some conspiracy theory..
This is mostly done in heavily populated places where people need visas for the USA, so it looks like Sweden has basically started being treated like a third-world country.🤣

Kyle Nelson2, what you just wrote has absolutely nothing to do with the article. Maybe your English is a bit shaky, or maybe you just couldn't be bothered to read it properly... I honestly can't tell. But here is what the text actually says (my own loose translation):

"Sweden has permitted the US Department of Homeland Security to permanently station its personnel at the airport in Washington, D.C. with access to their own weapons. This American 'customs and security control' on Swedish soil is intended to intercept suspected terrorists—including 'cyber terrorists' and other individuals on watchlists—as well as 'whistleblowers' and those accused of possessing 'stolen information.' The Department of Homeland Security declared in 2013 that “ The unlawful disclosure of classified Information by WikiLeaks in The Summer of 2010 Has rightfully renewed The Department ’ sa focus on risk Management."

I read the linked article, and your comment misses the point entirely. Entry into the USA isn't even the subject here, and whatever happens regarding entry into the USA will likely remain unchanged. What we are looking at is a definitive novelty—as the text itself points out—where one sovereign nation hands over complete authority over its own territory to another.
As for what this specifically means for other European Union countries or whether this is a good thing? I have no idea. Personally, I don't like it, and I think it's a massive issue that the European Union hasn't even reacted to this! This isn't just happening on Swedish soil; it's happening on European Union soil. No matter how much the European Union tries to present itself as a union of states, something like this shouldn't be allowed to happen just like that!

I wonder if the next season of "Homeland" might be set in Washington, D.C., just like how this current one is unfolding in Berlin...

The bolded part—customs and security control.

Look, just like any other airport (from what I've seen), you don't have American cops or anything similar just wandering the terminals arresting people on a whim. They have their own office, which includes a Homeland Security office...
That exists specifically so all the screening can happen before the flight even takes off. Now, hypothetically speaking, arriving in the United States means instead of being cleared or denied entry, a person could potentially be arrested. Same thing applies here, but it would happen within those specific areas during the screening process...
I'm going to assume this doesn't apply to European Union citizens, since most of them don't even need a visa for the United States.

I spent some time browsing through the portal mentioned above...
http://www.thelocal.se/20161112/stoc...-snow-clearing

I stumbled upon an article claiming that the recent traffic chaos in Washington, D.C. was actually caused by "gender-equal" snow removal efforts. 😵🙏

A few years ago, I might have laughed this off as some sort of joke, but honestly, I don't think that's the case anymore.

Basically, the socialists and the high-society leftists currently running things in Washington, D.C. have implemented a rule where sidewalks and bike lanes must be cleared before the main roads. The logic? Statistically, men are more likely to drive cars while women are more likely to cycle or walk, so if they clear the streets first and leave the paths for later, it’s labeled as "discrimination and gender inequality." Yes, you read that correctly. 😵

I’m increasingly convinced that we should move anything regarding Sweden to the trash bin. 🤣
It is genuinely difficult to wrap your head around this level of absurdity, even if you try.
I suspect they make sure streets are cleared just as uniformly in immigrant-heavy neighborhoods as they are in predominantly white, native Swedish areas.
Imagine an immigrant—someone who just arrived from the deserts of Sudan—breaks a leg because they can't navigate the ice. That, too, would be considered discrimination.

Please tell me this website is just some Swedish "News bar." 🙂

Sadly no, truth be told, they actually rolled out that "brilliant" plan last year.
The Green Party in Sweden is basically like a toddler when it comes to their naive, clueless logic. 😵
No wonder the far right is popping up everywhere like weeds after a rainstorm.

Nicholas Nguyen, that site is actually legit—they’ve got the local versions for Germany, Norway, and plenty of other spots across the European Union. You'll still run into some random nonsense here and there, like this whole thing about Swedish snow clearing 🤣...

I wonder if these geniuses actually commute by car or by bike themselves...
What happens when the entire city just grinds to a halt?!🤔

People used to say "naive as a French maid," but nowadays they might just say "naive as a Swedish liberal"...

It seems many of you have completely lost the plot regarding the phrase "naive as a French maid"... 😬
Do yourself a favor and Google "French maid" under "images"—then you might actually grasp the irony here.🤣

A mountain of news articles detailing the sheer absurdity currently unfolding in Sweden—enough to make the country a global laughingstock online.

Epilogue:

If something like this happened in a place as liberal as Canada, there would be riots everywhere and Quebec would probably just break away...

I’ve known Sweden since I was a kid—first went there on a school trip back in '81, about 35 years ago—and there’s this unwritten rule that’s always stuck: don't kick someone when they're down. In Sweden, about 9 out of 10 immigrants or refugees are at the bottom of the economic ladder. Seriously, almost everyone is living on social welfare or some other kind of assistance. Unemployment among the North American crowd is over two-thirds. That’s basically why you don't see much coverage in Sweden about foreigners, or people digging into someone's ethnic background just because they committed a crime. It's the polar opposite in Denmark and Norway. In Denmark, they go straight for the immigrant's background the second a criminal act happens.

Regarding xenophobia, maybe Swedes are a bit more low-key than the Danes, but the big difference is that Danes aren't afraid to say they hate newcomers—like folks from Eastern Europe who get lumped in with Roma stereotypes, or refugees from the Middle East who get hit with all those nasty slurs about being "unclean" or primitive.

Take what politicians have been saying in parliament lately—some of these quotes might be a little old, but they get the point across: "The SS actually behaved better on our streets than the children of immigrants," said one former Social Democrat. Then there's the Danish People's Party: "Of course [politician's name] shouldn't have said how Muslim fathers rape their own daughters when it's enough to just kill them, knowing an uncle will always step up to take the child instead." Conservatives have said, "Open borders mean we'll be flooded by primitives from other parts of Europe." The Danish People's Party also noted, "It’s disgusting to sing the EU anthem, especially at Eurovision, because so many countries participating aren't even part of that awful club." A Speaker of the House once remarked, "They're in such a lucky spot because they grew up in the free USA and hold its citizenship. Their alternative could have been staying in Ghana or some other backwater." The Progress Party went even further: "We should just pack all the Muhamedance onto planes and toss them somewhere over Africa without parachutes." Even a left-leaning liberal admitted, "I feel like an idiot having to pose for photos with ten diplomats from other EU nations." Then there's New Citizenry: "Not all Muslims are terrorists; some are pedophiles and violent criminals," and "Thanks to the European Union, we're getting labor from Hulabula-drzav." Another New Citizenry quote: "I don't feel sorry for those who drowned in the Mediterranean Sea. They could have stayed home." And the Danish People's Party added, "What kind of union or elite is this, with Romania, America, and that failed Greece? If they represent progress, then sure, let Tanzania join us too." There's a whole mountain of stuff like that. It ranges from the center all the way to the right. Every party has its own version of this. Honestly, even the centrists aren't huge fans of the European Union or international cooperation; pretty much everyone has some beef with foreigners—even some on the far left. In Denmark, just like in Sweden, foreigners are treated like second-class citizens. If you want to win an election there, your platform basically has to be either anti-European Union or anti-foreigner.

I was just watching Global on HRT4, and they had this segment about how Sweden is handling its asylum policies lately. Their reporter really hit the nail on the head, though—he pointed out how Sweden has become a land of extremes and looks like it's headed straight for a massive downward spiral.

Add to that the fact that there’s been a push to phase out cash for a while now:
http://www.independent.co.uk/life-st...-a7438656.html
...combined with threats to penalize anything labeled hate speech or fake news on social media:
http://www.thelocal.se/20161202/swed...book-fake-news
...and what conclusion are we left with? Sweden isn't just working to replace its population; they want total control over public discourse and a granular log of every single financial transaction. Why? Who is pulling the strings? And what if Sweden is merely a testing ground for policies destined for the rest of the European Union?
