Can anyone actually bank on a "guaranteed" win anymore?

I feel like every year we get cocky about certain matchups, only to get absolutely humbled by a gritty underdog. It’s easy to look at the rankings and assume it’s a blowout, but the schedule always finds a way to bite you. Does anyone else think we're being way too optimistic about this upcoming stretch?
