Does anyone else find niche podcasts a bit hit or miss?

I’ve been falling down a rabbit hole of hyper-specific hobbyist podcasts lately, but half the time it feels like I'm just eavesdropping on a private conversation between friends. It’s hard to tell when the "show" actually starts and the casual banter ends. Do you guys prefer a tight, structured format or do you like that loose, conversational vibe?
