I was thinking about this today while looking at some old brand logos and realizing how much the world has shifted. We’re often told to respect tradition and build on what came before, but I feel like there’s a growing tension between honoring a long history and actually staying relevant in a market that moves at light speed.

It seems like so many established institutions get stuck trying to preserve a "glory era" that doesn't really exist for anyone living in the present. I've seen it happen in local businesses and even in hobbyist groups—once you start prioritizing the "way we've always done it" over the actual needs of the current crowd, you've basically started a slow decline. It's a tough balance to strike.

How do you tell the difference between honoring your roots and just being too stubborn to evolve?
