I’ve been noticing a massive shift lately in how much investment is pouring into women's professional leagues. It feels like every major club is suddenly dumping massive resources into their women's sides, and while I love seeing the talent get recognized, I can't help but wonder if the scale of it is sustainable long-term.
Don't get me wrong, I think it's great for the athletes to have these opportunities and for the visibility to increase. But sometimes it feels like clubs are just trying to "check a box" or signal to the fans that they're progressive, rather than building something that can actually compete with the established giants of the sport. We've seen teams make huge splashes in the market recently, and it makes me wonder if they're actually building a foundation or just buying a temporary hype train.
It’s a weird tension between genuine growth and massive, sudden spending sprees. Do you guys think we're seeing a natural evolution of the game, or is this just a bubble that's going to pop once the initial excitement wears off?
