I swear every time the weather starts heating up and the training camps kick off, the collective anxiety of the fanbase hits a fever pitch. It’s like we collectively decide that the entire trajectory of our season is going to be determined by a few practice drills in the middle of nowhere.
I find myself getting sucked into the madness every single year. I’ll see a single clip of a player looking slightly winded or a coach looking stern during a drill, and suddenly I'm convinced the whole roster is falling apart. It's a bit exhausting, honestly. We act like these early sessions are some sort of crystal ball, but so much changes once the real pressure of the regular season actually hits.
Don't get me wrong, I love the anticipation, but I wonder if we put way too much weight on these early indicators. Does anyone else feel like we overanalyze these opening weeks just to give ourselves something to worry about during the off-season?
