Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

After the absolute train wreck that Jonah Hex was at the box office, I honestly thought we wouldn't see anything this ridiculous hit theaters anytime soon. Clearly, I was wrong. Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov are currently working on a film adaptation of the novel Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. The book tracks the life of the 16th President of the USA—starting from when he was just nine years old and discovered vampires are actually real—all the way to April 14, 1865, when he was assassinated by the vampire John Wilkes Booth. As for whether the movie will be any good? Well, we'll just have to wait and see—or rather, wait and *undead* 😁.

By the way, you can already see the whole point of this movie: Southerners are just so evil that either vampires are pulling their strings, or they’ve teamed up with them...

haha... honestly, I'm just counting down the days until this movie drops so I can see what kind of gamble they're actually taking here.

From what I can gather—if there is any gathering to be done—there are good vampires and evil ones. The evil ones are those Southern slaveholders who buy people up—not for labor in the fields, mind you—but for their own dinner tables.

It's going to be junk... I can already see it: a young Lincoln heads down South to hunt evil vampires, and along the way he teams up with a good vampire who also happens to be a very sexy Southern lady.🙄

Actually—the vampire helping him is a man, at least in the novel. Once Booth kills Lincoln, he uses his powers to bring Lincoln back to life as a vampire because...What a boring individual—honestly, just let him die.".

Haha, honestly, the sheer level of campiness in this plot promises to be quite an entertaining watch—just another bizarre piece of the massive Hollywood puzzle...😁
Lincoln, vampires... it sounds like it could be a pretty hilarious ride 🙂

By the way... there's something else coming out soon... pretty sure it's by the same author...

Eric Bana is set for 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter'

Daniel Day-Lewis—the Oscar winner and British actor—recently signed on for Steven Spielberg’s 'Lincoln' to play our 16th president. Meanwhile, Eric Bana is eyeing the lead in the 20th Century Fox adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith’s novel, 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.' Bana is pushing hard for the part—he's even slated to meet with Timur Bekmambetov soon. The book plays it off like a biography, claiming it's based on secret diaries handed over by a vampire named Henry Sturges—who apparently saved Lincoln's life during his teenage years while fighting the undead. They formed this bond where Sturges taught him the ropes of vampire hunting. Tim Burton is producing the film, which is hitting theaters on June 22, 2012.

It’s alright—not bad at all. I gotta admit, I'm actually pretty pumped for this one. 😁

The trailer looks seriously promising... the director seems like they've got a real vision here... and honestly, the most important thing for me is that the vampires don't just sparkle in the sunlight... this could actually turn out to be a really captivating movie!

That’s a killer idea. I’m just not feeling Eric Bana for this role, though—adding him might actually make the whole thing even more insane. 🙂

Actually, Benjamin Walker plays Abraham Lincoln, not Eric Bana.

Anyway, do you remember those comedy shows about Lincoln? I can't recall if they were actually any good, but there was this one episode where his wife is looking for a lookalike for some reason, and this blonde Swedish bodybuilder walks in, and she just shouts: "I'll take him!" 😂

I’m always down to watch a Burton film, but this one looks a little too trashy for my taste...

Not sure what the problem is with Eric Bana not being the lead. I liked the trailer. Big fan of Burton movies. It’ll be pretty satisfying when he finally smashes that tree with the axe at the end.😂
