Hey movie buffs and action junkies! Listen up—one of the most hyped action flicks of the decade is hitting theaters here in the States very soon: The Expendables! It’s an absolute powerhouse directed by and starring Sylvester Stallone, who basically assembled the ultimate dream team of action cinema. He’s actually managed to bridge the gap between the legends of the old school and the heavy hitters of today. On the veteran side, we've got Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li, Gary Daniels, Eric Roberts, Mickey Rourke, plus some cameos from Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Then you have the newer muscle led by Jason Statham and Steve Austin, along with a couple of newcomers to the genre: MMA fighter Randy Couture and the massive Terry Crews, who most of you know more for his comedy stuff.
We’re just missing Van Damme, Steven Seagal, and Wesley Snipes to complete the old guard, but hey, it's still a killer lineup.
To celebrate this release, I’m putting together a little action-themed sweepstakes. Anyone can enter (except me, haha). The sweepstakes kicks off today and runs until midnight this Thursday, right before the US premiere. I'll probably announce the winners on either Friday or Monday. I'm heading out for a quick shoot this Friday and won't be back until Monday, but if I can snag some Wi-Fi, I'll try to post the winners ASAP.
I'm footing the bill for this one myself, so here is what's up for grabs:
1st PLACE - 3 Sylvester Stallone movies (Blu-ray)
2nd PLACE - 2 Jason Statham movies (Blu-ray)
3rd PLACE - 1 Jet Li movie (Blu-ray)
Alright, here are the rules...
RULES
I put this together pretty fast, so bear with me if there are any hiccups. Here’s how it works:
1. - There will be a variety of challenges: simple trivia, anagrams where movie titles or characters are hidden, picture rounds, and maybe even a puzzle or two.
2. - I'll be dropping a few challenges here today—maybe 4 or 5 total—every hour or two. You’ve got until midnight tonight to get them done. Once tomorrow hits, we start fresh with new tasks; any old answers from yesterday won't count toward the new round, they just help set the baseline.
3. - You get 3 POINTS for every right answer, but a wrong one costs you 1 point. That goes for everyone right from the jump, even if you're starting at zero. If you mess up early on, you'll find yourself in the negatives.
4. - Plus, there's a 1 BONUS POINT up for grabs for speed. If you're the first one to nail a new challenge, you grab those 3 points plus the extra bonus.
5. - Once Thursday wraps up, the window closes. I'll tally everything up and announce the winners. If there's a tie, I'll come up with some way to break it... but we'll cross that bridge if we actually get there.
