Apple keyboard acting up

Hey,

I've got an Apple keyboard where everything works fine except for the number 7—it’s basically stuck in the "on" position. Actually, it's even weirder than that; hitting the left Ctrl key just triggers a constant stream of 7s. Can you even open these things up to try and clean them out?

Which specific keyboard are we talking about here? Usually, you can just pop the keys off to clean them, but if the circuitry inside a membrane keyboard has completely fried, then you're basically looking at a paperweight.

It's the mb110LL/B model. I can't see any way to pull these keys off. I tried prying the bottom casing apart, but the whole thing is just glued shut...

Apple expects users not to mess with the internal hardware—which is why most of it is just sealed up in plastic:


To get the button out, you'll need a thin flathead screwdriver, but once you're in there, you'll just find a switch similar to what's in a laptop keyboard—kind of a rocker mechanism with a plastic nub. I guess that means there's a membrane underneath, so replacing a microswitch probably isn't an option.
Maybe you could replace or clean the rocker itself if that's where the issue lies.
