Are we seriously just whining about modern soccer and everything else? You have a guy who basically gutted the entire league and ruined every club involved, yet he’s sitting there laughing while watching the game because the whole system is running like a Swiss watch, even if the fans have been pushed out to the nosebleed sections. Honestly, dear little ultras and supporters, if this isn't the perfect moment to take a stand, then I really don't know what is, unless we’re all just going to let things slide again with some silly little songs at every other stadium? Some people will be satisfied with just a tiny scrap thrown their way and go right back to business as usual.
Most people are just sheep, which isn't exactly news, is it? But if those so-called "other fan groups" watch the slaughter happening and are just foolishly happy that they weren't the first ones targeted, then they'll just keep singing their little tunes until it's finally their turn, and frankly, they haven't earned anything better than that.
The American fan scene is honestly tragic; you have these massive groups that are supposedly at the top of the European hierarchy with that gritty, tough style, but if it wasn't so ridiculous, it would actually be quite sad.
Now they’ve moved the goalposts to verbal offenses, putting the US on par with North Korea. You have to wonder which stadium is next on the list, and then the next weekend, and the one after that, as we expect an increased repertoire of rebellion at every other stadium, followed by nothing but intellectual chatter, lawsuits, and nursery rhymes.
It makes total sense, it's just that half the people out there refuse to see it.
