Sports leagues all over the world schedule games on that day—whether it’s football, baseball, or anything else—so you guys really seem to be the only fans out there complaining about it having an impact

Let them play their games if they want, but don't expect any fans to show up. ☕

Honestly, the whole thing just feels incredibly silly and hypocritical to me. I’m sure plenty of you have to clock in this Friday... and I’m equally certain a good number of you will be grabbing a beer at some local pub on Friday night without a single soul complaining that the establishment is open. If skipping a football game is suddenly a religious issue, then we might as well stop going out on Sundays too, since that's technically a day of rest, right?

Jerry Williams10 said:No, it’s just that the whole thing feels foolish and hypocritical to me. I imagine quite a few of you will have to show up for work this Friday... just as I suspect many of you will be sitting in some local pub on Friday night sipping a beer, and nobody is going to raise an eyebrow because the bar happens to be open that day. And if skipping a game is considered a religious issue, then technically we shouldn't even go out on Sundays either, since that's a day of rest and all.

Good Friday is a day for fasting and solemnity; it's the day when Jesus was crucified for your sake, so that you might live with dignity rather than like an animal. It honestly doesn't matter how much the fans drink that day or how many burgers they eat; what matters is that as a collective, we choose to align ourselves against something that is fundamentally unhealthy and goes against our better nature. This is purely a matter of indifference and a lack of consideration. The game could have easily been scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday, or even next week. When there is such blatant disregard for these things, why should we just turn a blind eye?
There are plenty of reasons to play on a Sunday, or even during Easter, compared to Good Friday. You probably aren't a believer, so it all seems pretty much the same to you.

It’s honestly pretty shameful... the league leadership doesn't seem to see anything wrong with scheduling games on the day we remember Jesus' death, and we just aren't going to be a part of that...

I don't know what some people fail to grasp. Individuals can do whatever they want on that day if they feel like it, but as a group, this is a perfectly logical and normal solution, I guess.

If everyone simply focused on their own lives instead of judging others, things would be much easier for all of us. And we can certainly take pride in making decisions like these.

Look, I’ve backed pretty much every move this group has made up to this point, but I am really not feeling this one. Seriously. We are football fans—period. It’s not our job to be out here weighing in on religious debates. We can't just go around acting like we have some kind of authority over stuff that isn't ours to touch. Our focus should stay strictly on Real Madrid and US Soccer, while all this other stuff is left to the church and whatever people choose for themselves personally. Honestly, we should boycott this match entirely; it’s basically the absolute peak of the farce that is US Soccer right now.

For Catholic believers, this is a massive day, honestly even more significant than a regular Sunday or a feast day. And yeah... we’ll likely be the only fans left complaining about the hypocrisy and all the other nonsense surrounding it. But who cares what the Englishmen or the rest of the world are doing? It doesn't really bother me at all... If I don't see you all again soon, I wish everyone the very best on this major Catholic holiday!

I don't quite get it. If Good Friday is supposed to be such a massive deal, why isn't it actually a federal holiday? Most of those other minor religious observances get nothing, yet we still work through it. Honestly, I wouldn't complain if we just had a four-day weekend instead.

For instance, it is a holiday in certain German states.
I work for a German corporation based here in the States, and we never take Good Friday off.

People are really getting worked up about those who aren't even bothering to show up at the games anymore.
Why does anyone care why a certain group is boycotting?
Just go to the match and be done with it.

It feels like everyone suddenly decided to jump in at once just so they could chime in with their own take on things 🤦

It is honestly unbelievable how many jerks are in this group; it’s truly appalling!
Every single decision made by a third party regarding a fifth group of people becomes an opportunity for you assholes to question, lecture, philosophize, and moralize...
I am genuinely curious about what you all are like in the real world...

We are Jesus followers, and we intend to stay that way; we weren't raised in families of atheists and communists.

That whole lifestyle is reserved for you "anti-fascists."

Jesus is sacred to us, just like Real Madrid—or more importantly, America.

ZDS!

The anti-fa crowd is out with their gear, while Miodrag Linta claims that "fascism" is actually institutionalized in America. 😁 It’s cute how they try to embolden us, but for now, the reds are marching through our institutions while the blacks take over the streets. 👍

Nazi Germany lives forever, while the anti-fas most certainly does not. Greetings to the old Yugoslav vampires with the finest American salute: ZDS. Here are your precious "anti-fa" tanks and those supposed "foundations of America"—those partisan ruins burned down in Stalingrad. If only Josip Broz Tito could see what Americans were doing to his legacy in '91, I suspect he would have started another war against the fascists. Luckily, he was gone, so the old regime just faded into irrelevance. 🎉

They’ve always been the same, and they’ll never change; they lie the moment they open their mouths, and they're more traitorous than the traitors themselves. That's why we made these turbo-fascist hits—just to draw blood. If they want to ban ZDS, they might as well ban the letter U from the alphabet, since it starts with "U" for ultra. 🤣

When life is a masquerade, it's plain to see that America has never lacked for traitors. That’s why we have someone like Vojislav Dokmanović shaping our legislature and national policy—because these anti-fasters protect him. Honestly, some of these "anti-fascists" still don't realize what they're doing in America; they are just legalized domestic traitors working in tandem with extreme nationalists to undermine their own people and country. And then they lecture us here because on the day of the Resurrection of the Son of God, we refuse to go to a game because we aren't atheists or communists like them—people who hate Jesus and would exile Him if they could! They did the same thing to Alojzije Stepinac and all those other Americans, all in the name of their beloved "anti-fascism." Well, frankly, I couldn't care less what you think about me and my fellow Americans refusing to attend a match on the day of the Resurrection of the Son of God. Besides, back in 1941, during the Resurrection, our version of America rose while yours didn't. And as someone who isn't a racial fascist or a Nazi, I truly don't give a damn what you think, because in my eyes, you are bigger traitors than the actual traitors. Any quasi-American who sucks up to the old regime and anti-fascism is nothing more than a small, stinking traitor to me. People like you tried to purge the faith of Jesus and all our national and religious symbols; now that you failed, you're trying to force upon us in peace everything you couldn't achieve through three different wars.

You’ve lost—just like all your partisan generals did. Your twisted ideology, your Franjo Tuđman, and all those leftovers from the anti-fascist era are nothing more than historical garbage. Meanwhile, the legacy of Nazi Germany lives on, and frankly, that’s what eats at you the most—because alongside those Chetniks, you're finally showing your true colors.

You bunch of thugs, you won't force us to act against our will or our sacred traditions ever again. And let's just say the ghosts of the old guard have plenty to say to you, especially right before the Resurrection of the Son of God.

My apologies for the monologue, but someone needs to look these little weasels in the eye and tell them the truth. It’s obvious who is offended by this and why—but as a true patriot, I refuse to sit quietly while others act like spineless cowards, allowing this filth to march through the very institutions of a state they despise and seek to dismantle, just like they tried back in the 1940s. Well, not this time. You’ve played us for fools twice already; you won't get a third chance. Twice we lived under the shadow of that failed system, and both times, you idiots managed to screw over both yourselves and us, causing a million times more harm to our own people and nation than any outside enemy ever could. So, quit eating your own filth and stop preaching morality at us—we Americans know exactly what kind of scumbags you are. We also know why nobody cares if people skip a football game on Easter Sunday; we respect our traditions, and one of those central pillars is certainly the Son of God, Jesus Christ.

Go ahead, call me some sort of dictator since I had the nerve to spit the truth in your faces. I know you'll probably try to ban me another hundred million times, but it doesn't matter—nobody can keep the truth silenced forever. We've lived under your lies long enough, and we don't need them anymore. We want the truth, because our Savior said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life"—even though I know those words mean nothing to you. Thank God there are still enough of us who understand that Jesus isn't just another version of Josip Broz Tito, whom you seem to defend and promote more than the actual Jesus who saved us all through His sacrifice. But expecting anything else from a communist gang that believes only in their Party and their leaders is purely delusional. I'm sure there will be those who mock me or claim I'm politically unstable, but quite frankly, I don't give a damn. I know exactly what kind of trash I'm talking about, and I know exactly who gets offended by everything at the slightest provocation.

It was quite a few years back now, but I seem to recall one or maybe two of our big Derbies falling right on Holy Saturday. I have this vivid memory of us slicing up some ham and prepping the green onions just before the game started 🙂

Times are changing... the moderator laid everything out clearly, and the group has reached a consensus. If you consider yourself a member of this community, then respecting that decision is simply part of the deal...

There really isn't much point in overanalyzing the situation with endless philosophy; we would be better served by getting to work so that next weekend we can pack the stands and drown out the opposition.🙂
