So, I’m 19 years old, and over the course of this past month, I’ve actually ended up wetting the bed twice. This is completely unprecedented for me—it’s never happened once in my entire life until now—so I can't help but wonder if there might be some underlying issue with my bladder or something similar going on. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Did you struggle with bedwetting when you were a kid?

About 1% of the adult population in the US deals with enuresis. If this happens again soon, you really ought to see a doctor, because these things are actually treatable. It could be anything from an underlying organic disease or a lesion causing an obstruction—which typically leads to both daytime and nighttime incontinence—to a bladder infection, neurovesical dysfunction, or most commonly, polyuric conditions that cause the bladder to simply overflow. Bottom line: stop drinking massive amounts of fluids right before you hit the sack...
