Best free image editing software?

I’m looking for some free image editing software, nothing overly complicated though. I just need to resize oversized images to specific dimensions and save them—the built-in tools on my PC are honestly garbage. This is all for a blog I'm running. Any recommendations for something straightforward?

It's simple, but honestly? It gets the job done.

IrfanView—it’s on basically every old PC out there, and yeah, it’s totally free.

It handles resizing, resampling, and exporting to a million different formats. You can pretty much hunt down whatever specific combo you need without any hassle.

For all you folks who dig GIMP—which, let’s be real, is an awesome tool even if the learning curve feels a bit steep sometimes—there’s this latest version floating around called "Gimpshop"...

Basically, it’s just GIMP but they’ve tweaked the interface so it looks way more like Photoshop... The install is tiny too, only about 7.5 MB..
