Hey there!
I was wondering if I could fit a Micro-ATX motherboard in this case:

The description says ATX, but I noticed none of the cases on Best Buy's site actually specify Micro-ATX. Is it just safe to assume that if an ATX case works, then Micro-ATX will too?

If the case says it supports ATX, then you’re definitely good to go with either an ATX or a Micro-ATX board. But if the case is labeled specifically for Micro-ATX, you aren't going to be able to squeeze an ATX board in there...

Hopefully that clears things up for you..

If an ATX board fits, then a Micro-ATX board will fit too—I haven't come across any exceptions to that rule. It’s entirely possible to have a "mid-tower" case that simply doesn't support the larger ATX standard.
I couldn't track down the official spec sheet, but here is proof that it works (this guy is using a Micro-ATX motherboard in that build)
.
By the way, you can actually find some pretty sleek Micro-ATX cases for that budget, like the Zalman T4.

What do you think makes a case actually good? Why isn't this one cutting it? I basically picked this one just because it looks cool... is there anything specific I should be looking out for when picking a chassis?

It’s nothing groundbreaking, especially at that price point. That mATX unit doesn't offer anything special; based on what I saw in the video, it looks like just another generic Chinese import. Honestly, the Zalman is probably the best buy for your money here in the States. It comes better equipped—things like dust filters, USB 3.0 support, and decent cable management potential—plus it likely uses higher-quality materials and better build standardshttp://www.zalman.com/global/product/Product_Read.php?Idx=835']click[/URL].

The only catch is that the power supply mounts at the bottom, and since the case is pretty tall, you might run into some headaches if you're using a PSU with short cables. Just pick whichever one you prefer... though keep in mind that DigiKey isn't exactly known for lightning-fast shipping; you might end up waiting anywhere from a few weeks to two months

So, my M-Tech case just showed up, but since I’ve never actually built a PC before, I’m a little stuck. It came with a front fan, but the power plug looks identical to the one coming off my power supply, so I have no clue how to hook this thing up.

hiddenmason33 said:Hey, I just got this new case from M-Tech delivered. Since this is my first time ever building a PC, I have a quick question. The case came with a front fan, but the power connector looks exactly like the one on my power supply, so I'm not sure how to plug it in properly.

Male or female

So both my fan and my power supply have these exact connectors

They just won't plug in together...

I don't know, some guy from overseas probably... anyone know where I can actually find these connectors? Scoured eBay but none of them are what I'm looking for...
