Best movies of 2002?

I'm dying to know which three movies you all felt were absolutely top-tier this year, and on the flip side, which one was a total disaster for you...

The absolute best (in my opinion, obviously):

1. Star Wars: Episode II - Attack Of The Clones
2. Monsters Inc.
3. Panic Room

Star Wars: Episode II could work.
Even Monsters, Inc. would be fine.
(Just trying to channel some of Richard Howard2's energy here 🙂)
As for a third option, I'm drawing a blank. Nothing comes to mind.

If we're talking about the absolute worst, it has to be Signs.

My absolute favorites

1) The Royal Tenenbaums
2) About a Boy
3) Monsoon Wedding

The ones I just couldn't stand

Spider-Man

1) Metropolis (it's animated, but whatever)

2) Star Wars Ep. II

Best one:
Worst one: Freddy Got Fingered...

Best: Talk to Her by Almodóvar
Donnie Darko
10- Kiarostami / Lantana

Worst: Road to Perdition

The absolute best? I’d say Lord of the Rings, Star Wars: Episode II, or maybe Panic Room.
As for the worst? It’s got to be Freddy Got Fingered.

Minority Report
Lord of the Rings
Panic Room (which hit theaters here earlier this year)

Even the local sheriff stepped up last year.

Let’s say for the sake of argument this is the third one—consider it a memento mori. If that doesn't work since it actually happened last year, then we might as well be living in Minority Report.

Look, I'm just gonna toss these out there for now. Honestly, I haven't hit the theater to catch most of these lately:

1. Star Wars: Episode II
2. Ice Age 😁 😁 😁 (might not be a masterpiece, but it's hilarious!!!)
3. Monsters, Inc. (yeah, yeah, I know... but you know how much I love animation)

The absolute worst:
1. Men in Black II

Hey driftingowl27, you didn't mention you were into Almodóvar or Leigh...😉 I still haven't gotten around to watching anything by Lukas...😢

You know I was torn about putting Leigh on my list too... but Kiarostami is just in a league of his own🙂 plus, Lantana was such a massive surprise...🙂

As for the absolute bottom of the barrel... the two worst movies I've sat through this year were definitely:

And that one... "Ali G Indahouse"
