Look, I really need some guidance on finding a quality orthopedic mattress for someone recovering from hip surgery. My mother just had her hip replaced, and frankly, it seems like nothing she sleeps on provides any real relief. Currently, she’s mostly tossing and turning on a thin yoga mat—which certainly isn't providing the level of care you'd expect from a facility like the Mayo Clinic—so I'm trying to figure out what would actually work for someone with an artificial hip. We need that perfect middle ground: soft enough to prevent excessive pressure on the joint, yet firm enough to provide necessary lateral support.
The market is absolutely flooded with options, but I’m genuinely lost on which ones are specifically engineered for hip issues, since most marketing seems obsessively focused on spinal alignment. To make matters more complicated, the price gaps are massive; for instance, a basic orthopedic mattress from Casper is $333 while high-end brands like Tempur-Pedic can run upwards of $2,500, leaving us completely stuck in a state of indecision.
