I was going to post this in the off-topic section, but I really need a quick answer—and I figured there’d be more people around here right now.😁

So, I need to pick up a printer for the office, and honestly, some requirements matter way more than others... 😁
1. It has to print in color.
2. The ink needs to be cheap (or at least have an option for refills—can you actually refill the cartridges on any inkjet?)
3. Price is a factor, though "affordable" is subjective—I'm thinking somewhere under $333.
4. Speed doesn't matter, and I don't care about the brand.

Basically, I just want something reliable that won't break the bank on ink. We print a lot, but I don't think I can stretch the budget enough for a color laser printer.

Look, go scout out some local shops in your neck of the woods that carry third-party ink. Find out which ones are actually cheap, ask around if they cause any headaches for people, and see how long the stuff actually lasts... once you find an ink that hits the sweet spot for price, volume, and print quality—and you're actually confident in it—then you're set.

Then you'll know exactly what kind of printer to pick up. If you aren't obsessed with photo-quality prints, just grab a 4-color model, and obviously, make sure it has individual ink tanks...

As far as the printers go, it's all more or less the same crap...

Hey, I wanted to toss a question out there. I'm still pretty new here on Reddit, so I couldn't quite find the right spot to post this originally. The question is: Does anyone know which printer can actually handle 300gsm cardstock or even thicker?

David Alvarez4 said:I need to print photos on it—with the highest quality possible (color, obviously). Would it be better to go with a more expensive inkjet, or just grab a cheap laser printer? Also, what's the damage on color laser printers when you're talking about photo printing?

Just get a Canon PIXMA series—it's got a built-in scanner and handles color photos perfectly!!! I use mine all the time and have never had a single complaint!!

I personally own this model. It isn't exactly budget-friendly, but the image quality is truly exceptional.
