I ran into this exact same headache with Ripguard back this past spring. I just couldn't get my DVDs to rip directly onto my hard drive anymore. Now, the thing about Shrink is that it’s meant for when you've already dumped the files onto your drive and realized you've grabbed more data than a single-layer disc can actually hold; it basically squeezes the extra junk down so the whole movie fits on one disc perfectly.
After spinning my wheels for a while, I stumbled upon Handbrake—it's this tiny little free utility that honestly still works like a charm for me, and I've been using it to pull every single DVD movie off my originals without a single hiccup. Of course, I follow that up with Shrink to compress things, and then I burn them all to build out my home movie collection.
Don't get me wrong, Handbrake is solid, but if you were looking at AnyDVD, I personally couldn't track down a working crack for it, so if you aren't in the mood to go on some wild scavenger hunt for a crack, Handbrake is a fantastic alternative! 👍 👍
