Biased moderator

A few questions (sent over by the Moderator)

1. Why does a moderator feel entitled to claim that anyone who disagrees with them is just "squawking" or making noise?
2. Since when is a moderator allowed to be biased and pick sides in an argument?
3. And honestly, who moderates the moderators?

In this case, it's Alice.
1- She can because the Supermoderators and especially the Administrator allow it.
2. It’s because she’s permitted to lead discussions just like any other Forum member, which makes it easier for her to hand out warnings and delete posts.
It works like this:

That bit about ad-hominem is the best part. It basically means, "I'm done playing with you all; I'm closing this thread because I am the Moderator laughing."
And don't even get me started on deleting posts filled with nonsense—she deletes them only after realizing what she wrote. Then there's the double standard between Substandard Forum members and those who aren't. The "good" ones can call someone bottom of the barrel while the others get hit with a red card and a deletion immediately.

3. The Moderator has a Supermoderator.

Oh, totally.
They’re constantly throwing these "rules" in my face, even though I haven't seen a single one of them in over a year.
It feels like they just make them up on the fly whenever they feel like it.
I mean, you can basically ask if they feel any shame about letting people bring up someone's parents, and then suddenly you get hit with a partial ban for it.
Or how they let banned users post from someone else's account—you know, using clones.
Rules, rules, rules... 🙂

So, what's the play here? What does this actually mean?
Is the Moderator just gonna sit there and take it, staying quiet while everything goes sideways, or what? 🤔

Can we please be real here—don't you see she's doing this on purpose? She drops one totally unhinged post just to stir the pot, waits for everyone to lose their cool, and then starts frantically deleting critiques and handing out bans. Then, to top it all off, she threatens to lock the thread when she was the one who started the whole mess with that weird post in the first place. The discussion was going so smoothly, but now everything's just stalled and everyone's gone wild...🕺

Someone is clearly letting her get away with it, so just deal with it. Honestly, I’d suggest just ignoring those obvious attempts at trolling from now on.

I mean, the funny thing is they act like this is some sacred space, but it really isn't.
I can just imagine what those meetings look like... honestly.
It feels like this PDF is more of a place to make fun of anyone who actually tries to complain.

I feel like everything becomes pretty obvious once you see this kind of moderation being allowed.

Do not interfere with other Forum members in a thread unless your complaint is strictly related to their specific issue. It is better to start a new thread to outline your own problem so that every complaint remains transparent.

And since this thread relates to a PDF link that I highly doubt you're even visiting, it looks like you're breaking the rules right here too.

Oh, please. If this thread didn't exist, I never would have wandered over to that other discussion, where within just a few posts I was already wading through a mountain of absolute nonsense scraped straight from some ultra-right, anti-vax, white supremacist American site. I know it’s a lost cause trying to reason with them, but I did find a small shred of satisfaction in pointing out their glaringly obvious idiocies 🥳

I mean, someone would have to open 150 threads, maybe even 1500, all with the exact same title.
Do you honestly think that's... easy to pull off, or even worth doing?
Even if we assume you aren't breaking any rules, I guess you could say...
you're just posting for the sake of posting.
Which is totally fine, I suppose, but it's really not important.

Honestly, I don't see any issue at all with linked posts being flagged. To me, those warnings and guidelines the moderators drop are totally standard; they're just trying to steer the conversation back on track so we can actually have some constructive communication instead of just chaos.
