So, here’s the situation... I haven't done any serious training in years, but I finally got back into it recently. At first, I was dealing with a ton of muscle soreness, but that eventually cleared up (a little Advil helped quite a bit) and I don't really have those issues anymore. However, now I'm starting to get these blisters on my feet, specifically around my big toes and along the soles of both feet. I guess I'm wondering if these will heal just like the muscle inflammation did, or if the skin is just going to toughen up? Also, what kind of socks should I be wearing to prevent this from happening again, and is there a way to clear them up quickly? I'm 17, by the way. Thanks in advance.

It’ll harden up over time

thicker socks (might need them more since things will start smelling...)

What do you do for work?

What kind of sneakers are you wearing?

Man, you really take me back. 🙂

When I was doing martial arts, we always trained barefoot, so those calluses were just part of the game.

Eventually, your feet just toughen up. You won't get them as often, and even when you do, they sting like hell.

Well... I train my best, even when blisters pop like that, but you have to keep pushing through the pain if your willpower is truly strong...

oh man, seriously? what kind of "warriors" are you guys supposed to be if you're actually shaking in your boots over a little blister 😁

Scott Ortiz5 I didn't catch what was said—it looks like the message got cut off. What was the point?
Good grief, what kind of fighters are you people supposed to be if you're actually terrified of a little bit of bedsores? 😁

😁

Blisters usually just clear up on their own after a couple of training sessions... Once you're done with the first one, though, I'd head straight to a CVS or Walgreens. Grab some Micropore tape and wrap your fingers with it—just enough so you can actually walk without it being a total nightmare. There’s also that heavy-duty adhesive tape you find at any drugstore; it works great for blisters too, although personally, I mostly just use it as athletic tape rather than blister protection.

It usually takes about two or three sessions before it finally clicks...

Thanks, everyone. Things were a little rough, I guess, but it’ll all work out in the end 🙂
