Blood tissue extraction?!

A few days ago, during ovulation, I felt some significant pain near my left ovary that lasted through the afternoon. I don't usually deal with pain during ovulation or my period. But this morning, along with some light spotting, I passed a blood clot about the size of a walnut. I did some digging online, and I wondered if it might be a ruptured endometriotic cyst, though from what I can gather, those wouldn't just pass like that—plus, I don't have any other symptoms like intense pain. I guess I'm just wondering if anyone has an idea of what this could be.

Go see a doctor and just ask them directly!
Seriously, don't play games with this kind of stuff; it could turn out to be something way more serious than just a ruptured cyst...

Don't overthink things when you see your OB-GYN. While this community is an incredible resource for advice and solidarity, nothing can ever replace the expertise of a medical professional.

I deal with these symptoms pretty often
maybe twice a year
my OB-GYN says it’s just a hormonal imbalance triggered by stress or overexertion
but I still need to get it checked out

During my period, I noticed a small piece of tissue pass, though it was slightly smaller than what you described—about the size of a hazelnut... And then, after two days, I started seeing tiny fragments of that same tissue on my tampon 😢
It honestly really frightened me, but since I'm still quite young, I haven't actually made an appointment with my OBGYN yet 👎 🙈
So, if you wouldn't mind sharing what they end up telling you, it would truly mean so much to me...

Look, feeling that way during your period is completely normal. We’re talking about something happening during ovulation here, which is where the real surprise lies.
That’s what blood clots actually look like. They can also consist of small fragments of endometrial tissue that shed during your period.
It sounds like you’re still pretty green, especially after going through something like that for the first time.🙂
