Blue Paw - Deleted Thread

Can the mods over at Blue Paw please explain where my chinchilla giveaway thread went? I didn't write anything inappropriate—it was right there yesterday. Who's offended today and why? There were other posts about guinea pig adoption too, so I really don't get what the big deal is. 🙄 🤦

Not really. Usually, you’re expected to start a new thread if your question isn't directly related to the one you're posting in—and this definitely isn't. Every subforum has its own set of rules, including the Pet Rescue section and Blue Paw. You should probably give them a read.
To save the mods some extra work, I'll keep it brief: Blue Paw is specifically for fostering and helping abandoned animals, as George Peterson49 already pointed out. This topic doesn't fit into any of those categories. The user was notified about that, and there weren't any complaints filed on their end.
If you want to keep debating this, start a separate thread per the Pet Rescue guidelines, or just send a private message.

Look, sorry, but I think this is tied directly to why this thread even exists. At the end of the day, we should be looking out for the animal first. That's the whole point of the Blue Paw mission statement. If someone's trying to help, we shouldn't get so hung up on technicalities. This guy was just trying to raise money for a cat; yeah, technically it has an owner, but the owner is broke and the cat is suffering. Plus, the author wanted to find homes for some chinchillas. If we shut down threads over nitpicking, the animals are the ones who pay the price—and that’s exactly what happened. The author told me the cat died, and it was a nightmare.

I'm calling for some humanity here and asking to loosen the rules. It's pretty common to raise funds for animals even if they aren't "abandoned," and I personally love helping out whenever I can. I truly love that spots like this exist online. 🙂

If this were just one of those usual closed topics, I wouldn't care, but basic compassion and keeping living things alive have to come before red tape.
