Browser issues??

So, Facebook is acting up on me. My cover photo won't load all the way—it either just shows a tiny fragment or maybe two or three posts before stopping. I can't even check my notifications; the little loading icon just spins forever. It’s happening across the board, whether I'm using IE, Mozilla, Chrome, or Opera..

Then there's YouTube. Every single video starts playing, but after about 5 or 6 seconds, the whole thing just freezes up.
Everything else on the web seems to be working perfectly fine without any errors.

I've already tried the "nuclear option" by uninstalling all my browsers and doing fresh installs, but the problem is still there.

The machine I'm using is an old HP Compaq CQ58, about a year old, running Windows 8.

If anyone has a clue what might be causing this bottleneck or what's slowing things down, please let me know. Thanks! 🙂

Maybe you need a newer version of Google Chrome? They're always rolling out updates... old versions just won't handle everything anymore, especially when it comes to addons, scripts, or Adobe junk.

I'm using Verizon on my cellular dongle, and I've tried downloading different browsers directly from their site to install, but it’s the same story every single time. I even tried grabbing stuff via torrent, but nothing is actually seeding...

Do you think this could be a Java issue? It refuses to install the latest version—it just hangs at 99% every time.

It’s highly probable that alongside Boldano, there are several other malicious processes lurking within the network—just a few more digital infections, and then the system should be clean.

It’s possible. But it isn't because Java is a "system requirement" for whatever issues you're running into.

Uninstall it if there was no specific reason to have it in the first place. Apps like that shouldn't be allowed to update themselves without permission—or rather, maybe Java isn't acting on its own "free will."

I couldn't quite nail down the fix myself, so I just went ahead and installed some new Windows updates. It seems to be running smoothly now.
