Can anyone suggest a quick build for under $6k? I can stretch the budget a bit if I have to $167.
Looking at Dell or maybe somewhere better. I’d want to pay in installments. The PC would mostly be for gaming. No monitor needed.

Hey. Isn't it just better to grab a console if you're mostly looking to play games? You'll save a ton of cash that way. 🙂

Same question as the title. Does this all work together?

@Zachary Hernandez4

Yeah, but honestly, this build is kind of a mess 😬

What are you actually planning to use it for?

To be honest, I'd rather just go out and pick a fight with my neighbor.

If you just want something for messing around, but want a much better setup, you could grab a case with 4 fans and a plexiglass side panel, a modern Intel i5, DDR4 RAM, and system speed boosted by one of those top-tier budget SSDs. 😬

You're gonna be struggling just to get anything running on a dual-core Pentium.🤣

If you actually want a decent build instead of playing around, get a case with 4 fans and a side window, the latest Intel i5, DDR4 RAM, and speed things up with one of those best-buy SSDs. 😬

My neighbor is going to complain about my PC noise. He’s an annoying gamer.

Thanks for the "belated" replies, but I've already pulled the trigger on the parts, which is why I was looking for some quick advice. 😁 It’s going to be a long Tuesday getting this thing built. 🙂

Can you walk me through that logic? How much are we talking about dropping on a new console? The 500GB version is sitting at $0.92 at the cheapest retailer, and the 1TB model hits $1.00. On top of that, you only get one controller in the box—and let’s be real, who plays solo these days? So, tack on another $167 for a second controller, plus you have to pay full price for every single game you want to play. It's a different world on PC (looking at you, budget gamers 😁). Plus, this guy put together a rig that costs about $1.25 locally, which actually delivers better FPS in something like GTA5 compared to a console. He even went out of his way to match the exact console settings on the PC to see how they stacked up; check out the results here:
. And don't even get me started on trying to play FPS titles with a joystick. Games like Bloodborne, Diablo 3, Dark Souls, or Assassin's Creed are great with a controller, but once we tried COD, BF, or Battlefront, we immediately tossed those games into the trade group 😁. With a PC, you can always pick up an extra controller, but you can't exactly do that with a PS4 😁 (well, you can, but it's a massive investment and still doesn't feel right)

You could probably eat your keyboard at this point. Look, I wasn't even thinking about those cheap knockoff games xD

Honestly, it’s way easier to just grab an original game on sale for PC than to mess around with your so-called "budget" junk. I don't own a PS4 and I'm not some hardcore gamer, but man, consoles are just easy. You pack it up and take it wherever you want. Just pop the disc 😁 in and you're good to go. On a PC? You'll probably just end up staring at some random "error" message or dealing with hardware that won't stop glitching if you try to go down that milk-run path of yours xD. I've never seen anyone lugging a massive desktop tower to a summer house or whatever. If you actually want decent performance, you have to shell out for a high-end GPU that costs as much as a whole console. For a few extra FPS, I don't think you'd really miss out. But hey, to each their own 🙂

I’m positive there’s already a PC vs. Console debate happening somewhere, even if the search function on this site is basically useless. You can always just Google it. Since we don't have much useful stuff being said here, you might as well head over to Tom's Hardware where they have about 256^3 identical threads on the exact same topic—but hey, why not start yet another one that's already been covered a thousand times?

In the meantime, the PC Master Race will just sit back and watch console players struggle through games at a pathetic 30FPS, genuinely believing a joystick could ever compete with a mouse in a shooter. (Shoutout to the FIFA players, though; that's actually impressive.)
