Hey there,

I'm thinking about finally pulling the trigger on a new PC in a week or so, mostly because my current rig is feeling pretty ancient and has definitely seen better days.
It’ll basically be doing what it does now—browsing the web, listening to music, watching YouTube, streaming HD movies and shows, and maybe playing a game or two every now and then.
As far as peripherals go, I don't need anything new😉 , though I am sticking with my Dell E2214H monitor.

I was leaning toward an AMD build since they tend to be more budget-friendly; I've been running an AMD Athlon dual core 4600 at 2.41 GHz for quite a while, and before that, I had a single core Sempron, and
honestly, I've never had any issues with AMD.
I could go with Intel, but that would probably mean cutting corners on other components if I wanted to afford a more powerful chip.

If you guys could put together a parts list for me to pick up at Best Buy, that would be great; it's right in my neighborhood and I've always shopped there—even if things are a little pricier, I really don't mind.

Regarding the CPU cooler, if I end up going the AMD route, please suggest a solid aftermarket cooler,👍 because I'm worried the stock cooler
won't be able to keep things cool enough.

Once summer hits, my room gets incredibly stuffy, and since I'm currently using a Phenom stock cooler on this Athlon, it starts spinning like crazy once July or August rolls around.
Otherwise, during the winter and the rest of the year, I never run into those kinds of issues.

I also want to make sure I get a high-quality, reliable power supply.

I almost forgot that I'll need a case too, since my current one is getting pretty old
and is actually slightly warped, haha. It doesn't need to be anything flashy; I care way more about the quality of the components inside.😁

I'll be building it myself, which shouldn't be an issue since I put this current one together along with a few others.

Thanks in advance for the advice!😉

I don't need any peripherals 😉 , just using my Dell E2214H monitor.

I was leaning toward an AMD build since they're cheaper. I've been running an Athlon dual core 4600, 2.41 GHz for ages, and before that, a single core Sempron, and

If you guys could put a list together for Best Buy, that's the shop near me. I've always bought everything there—they're a bit pricier, but I don't mind.

Also, regarding the CPU cooler, if I go AMD, recommend a solid third-party cooler 👍 because that stock cooler
isn't going to cut it.

Once summer hits, my room gets sweltering. Right now, I'm using a Phenom stock cooler on this Athlon, and by July or August, it starts spinning like crazy.
Otherwise, during the rest of the year, it's fine.

And I want a high-quality, reliable power supply.

old and warped lol. Doesn't need to be anything fancy; I care more about what's inside.😁

I'll build it myself. No big deal, I built this one and a few others already.

Thanks for the help.😉

If you're buying in a few weeks, wait until then. Prices change daily.
Better to just buy online from a major retailer; most of them offer free shipping over $667 anyway.

Honestly, you're probably better off ordering from an online shop based in NYC. You get free shipping, and most places will actually assemble and test everything to make sure it works before sending it out. 😉

I was just trying to put some parts together at LA for you, but I guess nothing really makes sense—or fits your budget—given what you're looking for.
