Hi everyone,
I'm looking to pick up a new PC within the next month or two. I want something high-quality and fast that will stay reliable for at least five years. I'm not a power user by any means; mostly just web browsing, watching movies, photo editing, and—most importantly—listening to music. For heavier software, I use Adobe Photoshop and Esri ArcGIS, though nothing too intense. I'm not much of a gamer, maybe the occasional older title like GTA or NFS, and if I ever get the urge to play more seriously, I'll just invest in a better graphics card later.

I've put together this potential build, so please let me know if there's room for improvement. My budget is $2000, and since I refuse to settle for anything less than the speakers I've picked out, I have about $5,000 for the entire setup.

Intel Core i5-3340 (ID: 0300486) $444
KINGSTON DDR3 (4GB,1600MHz(PC3-12800) CL11 (ID: KVR16N11S8/4) $102
Gigabyte GA-B75M-D2V,1155,iB75,D3,S3,(ID: gig-ga-b75m-d2v) $142
Western Digital HDD, 1TB, 7200rpm, Caviar Blue (ID: WDC-WD10EZEX) $154
LG DVD±RW 24x GH24NS95 SATA black bulk (ID: lg-gh24ns95-bulk) $46
Asus XONAR DG PCI 5.1 (ID: 0201241) $86
Zalman mid tower case black (ID: ZAL-Z5 PLUS) $121
CORSAIR Power Supply, Builder Series CX 80+ Bronze, 430 Watt, ATX, PS12V, PS/2, US Version (ID: CP-9020046-EU) $121
Logitech B100 optical mouse, USB, black (910-003357) (ID: 27577) $27
Logitech K230, wireless keyboard (ID: log-tip-k230) $53

$1295

I was thinking of using this monitor:

and these speakers:

I look forward to your advice.

Great, then you'll finally finish putting the build together a week before you actually buy it, and who knows what new hardware will hit the market while you're still saving up.

You have a fast hybrid SSD/HDD combo and an i5 processor. If you eventually decide to pick up a dedicated graphics card for gaming, this setup will be an excellent combination...

Thanks! I really appreciate the suggestions regarding the CPU and storage, though I think I'll stick with my current choices for the case and monitor.
