So, I’ve got this headache of a problem I just can't seem to shake. My PC randomly freezes up—sometimes it happens if I even nudge the thing slightly, other times it just quits on me for no reason at all. When it locks up, I have to force a hard shutdown, and then when I try to boot it back up, I'm just staring at a "no signal" screen. It’s been happening sporadically, maybe once every week or two... I already hauled it down to the local repair shop, and they "fix" it, but then a few days later, I'm right back where I started. They do something to it, but they won't tell me what the actual issue is. They just say it's some major hardware failure and tell me to come back in a day or two instead of just handing it back in ten minutes... it's always the same story. Has anyone else dealt with something like this??🙂🙂

What exactly do you mean by "it's acting up"? There could be a dozen different things going on here... maybe a faulty power supply, a buildup of dust inside the case, a dying graphics card, and so on. It might be worth borrowing a PSU from a buddy just to test it out—if the issue persists, then you’ll know it's time to swap out the GPU or something else. Honestly, you kind of need a stash of spare parts if you want to troubleshoot these things effectively. p.s. Open up the tower and check for dust—if it looks pretty bad in there, grab a vacuum and see how much you can clear out.

So, I’ve got this weird issue where if I even nudge the PC—whether I'm just moving the desktop around or messing with the tower itself—the whole thing just freezes up. I already swapped out the power supply and just put a brand new one in, but I ran into the exact same problem again early this morning. I actually opened up the case to take a look, and the second I lightly touched the capacitors near the CPU cooler... or even just bumped the motherboard power connector... it tried to boot up and then died. It’s spotless in there; I just finished tearing the whole thing down to clean it. I even cranked up the fan speeds using SpeedFan and it seems to be running fine for now, but I’ve got this nagging feeling that the same thing is just going to happen all over again...

I honestly don't know... It could be some loose wiring—maybe a short circuit somewhere—so the second you touch the case, the whole computer just restarts. Or, it might actually be an issue with the motherboard itself.
