Chatting issues with American

Hey everyone,

I wasn't sure where to start a new thread, but I’m dealing with a huge issue with my hamster... Both of his hands are basically eaten away. His ear is all scabby, too. I'm honestly at a loss—the vet says it's some kind of neurological thing and that there isn't much they can do at this stage. He's lost so many fingers, I don't even know how it happened... If anyone here knows anything about hamsters or has dealt with something similar, please help—I've never seen anything like this.
