Honestly, they’re my absolute favorite band—easily the best I’ve ever heard... PERIOD... I was actually over the moon when this guy I met in Chicago sent me a box set of all their albums on DVD...
I'd love to hear what you all think...

I grew up listening to the Brothers in Arms album. Those summer months working on a boat used to get incredibly dull, but Knopfler was my lifesaver.

Definitely one of the better bands out there... for me

I don't really bring them up much these days (except when they hit Broadway a bit too hard), but if you ignore that one failed comeback attempt from their On Every street era, I pretty much love almost everything they’ve ever recorded. The only exception has to be those little rockabilly tracks with the most irritating keyboard sounds in history...

I'm just sitting here listening to Making Movies... it's a solid album.

Since I’m such a huge fan of Forsyth’s film "Local Hero," I can’t exactly say I don’t love the main theme, too—that track by Knopfler. 😳

Honestly, I just live for their music
it’s like it’s permanently stuck on loop in my head, and there's this constant little voice whispering to me that I absolutely have to go listen to this one track or that other one...

I have absolutely loved The Straits for nearly twenty years now!!! I own just about their entire discography, though most of my collection consists of their albums on LP👎 It feels like there isn't a single track of theirs that I don't enjoy, but if I had to pick a personal favorite, it would definitely be "Private Investigations"👍

Oh, man! You can totally tell this kind of music is strictly for the true connoisseurs! 👍

That era of 80s American cinema—the whole soft realism vibe—is honestly one of my favorite periods ever. One of my all-time favorites is Forsyth's first film, "Great sink theft" 😍 which I caught on a lazy Sunday afternoon about, hmm, 20 years ago...🧐

I just have a handful of absolute favorites—things like 👍Sultans of Swing👍, 👍Money for Nothing👍, Walk of Life, Solid Rock, Lady Writer, and Tunnel of Love... though honestly, nothing beats the live versions.

The Straits are the only band I can listen to without getting bored. Seriously, never.
As I get older, I’m finally tracking down every single track they've ever recorded. Knopfler is basically a god to me.

Have you checked out "The Singing Detective"? In my opinion, it’s hands down the best thing ever produced for television (well, a miniseries, technically).

That riff is decent, I guess, but honestly? I could probably rattle off 4 or 5 even better ones just from Led Zeppelin alone...
