Hi there. Here is my situation... My mother passed away suddenly three months ago due to a brain hemorrhage. Just two days after her passing, I attended a memorial service held at her workplace. During that service, I felt incredibly ill, and ever since that moment, I have been battling these health issues: dizziness, a constant sensation of being seasick, head pressure, fatigue, and clogged ears. This has been happening CONTINUOUSLY, day and night, for three full months now. Occasionally, along with these symptoms, I experience tinnitus and shortness of breath. I waited for three weeks thinking it was just shock, but when things didn't improve, I went to see a neurologist. They ran a CT scan, EKG, EEG, Doppler, and even imaging for my lungs, cervical spine, and an eye exam—everything came back normal. I also had my thyroid checked, and that was fine too. The problem is that this dizziness and vertigo NEVER stop, and it is making it extremely difficult to function in my daily life. I have even tried acupuncture, but it hasn't helped at all. Does anyone have any advice or similar experiences? It is truly difficult, and I am terrified I might lose my mind!! Thank you!

I’ve been dealing with this exact same mess for about a year and a half now. It happens every single day, too. Sometimes I can just brush it off, but other times it gets so bad I honestly can't even function. I’ve done a mountain of research and everything comes back fine, except for some minor issues with my cervical spine. The doctors basically concluded it’s all psychosomatic, so I finally bit the bullet and went to see a psychiatrist. I started a new medication regimen on Monday, so we'll see how that plays out. On top of all that, I haven't slept right in over a year—I'm basically popping a sleeping pill almost every night. Honestly, the whole thing is just exhausting and I feel like I'm constantly on edge.
Do you take anything for anxiety?

I tried taking Persene, but I didn't notice any actual improvement, so I just stopped. Sleep isn't really an issue, except for those occasional nights where I wake up feeling dizzy and short of breath, though that doesn't happen too often. What's really bothering me now is this pressure and slight ache at the base of my skull. Good grief... what kind of tests did you end up doing? The doctors over at Mayo Clinic told me everything was fine, so what am I even supposed to do now?
Please let me know how that psychiatric treatment is working out for you. I’m thinking about checking out a balance specialist for my inner ear... and if that turns out okay, then I'll look into seeing a psychiatrist. This sensation in my head is just soul-crushing; sometimes I just spend the whole day crying because I feel so hopeless, and I feel like nobody wants to listen to me vent anymore.

Honestly, I can't believe I've finally stumbled upon people dealing with the exact same thing. I've been struggling with vertigo for about a year and a half now—more specifically, that sensation where the floor feels like it's dropping out from under you, or like you're constantly swaying on a boat. It all started less than a month after I fell into a diabetic coma (I'm on insulin), which left me more shaken up than I care to admit... My doctors diagnosed it as a balance disorder caused by nerve damage in the inner ear, though apparently, that damage "resolved" itself a few months ago. I have no idea how that works, given that I feel just as bad as I did then. Since I can't always manage it, I take Helix (25mg) almost every single day.😢I've never even touched an Analgesic before, yet here I am, suddenly relying on sedatives...

Have you noticed any actual difference since starting those calming pills? Did your psychiatrist prescribe them for you? I’ve personally realized my symptoms take a dive whenever the seasons shift. For instance, today feels like total 😢

Even after running countless searches, I still haven't received a single official diagnosis... so it's just me, bouncing from one specialist to another on my own!

Honestly, I’m feeling totally out of it today. I've been feeling this constant rocking sensation all afternoon.
I’ve gone through the absolute ringer with tests lately: saw a neurologist, did an EEG, got an MRI on my head and neck, carotid and cerebral ultrasounds, checked in with an ENT, a physical therapist, a cardiologist, full blood work, even saw an osteopath. I’ve also ended up in the ER twice... I don't even know how many more doctors I've seen at this point.
The bottom line? They’re pinning some of it on my spine and saying the rest is just psychological. So, here I am, starting a new round of meds again. Xanax (or maybe Xelox = 0,25) is the only thing that actually calms me down. Otherwise, there are moments where I feel like I’m going to lose my mind from the way my head feels.
I used to take Xanax maybe twice a week, but now I'm on it every single day. Everything just seems to be getting worse.

Have you actually gone to see a neurologist? Or maybe a psychiatrist?

So, I’d say we’re looking at either option one or three, though I’m leaning heavily toward number one being the culprit here:

1. Anxiety, depression, or even full-on panic attacks—usually triggered by heavy stress or losing someone close to you.

2. Something involving your inner ear or balance center.

3. Low blood pressure, especially if it tends to dip even lower than usual.

I feel every single shift in the weather too... Initially, I thought things were worse when the humidity rose and it stayed rainy, but then the heavy winds started blowing🙏 oh god, it felt like someone was physically tossing me around the house, drifting left, then right😢 a total disaster! And if only I could say my condition had actually improved after all this time
( a year and a half )... In the beginning, I was taking Vertigo twice a day. Eventually, my doctor told me I could stop since there wasn't any noticeable progress, but then a friend mentioned she’s been staying on her Vertigo this whole time (we both started around the same period! ) and feels it's helping. So, I started taking it again; perhaps it will work... As for Helix... well, it helps, at least it calms me down a bit, which is vital because my blood sugar used to spike to 20 out of pure panic! ( I'm on insulin )

Yeah, Linda Edwards76, I am truly sorry to hear about what you're going through with your mom. 😢

By the way, I’ve been dealing with this same heavy pressure in my head for about three and a half years now, ever since my mom passed away. It isn't exactly a buzzing sound, but there's definitely something there... and who knows when it'll finally let up? Maybe once we all just settle down and fully wrap our heads around the fact that she's really gone. Honestly, getting out into nature—even if it's just lying around in the grass—hitting the gym, or going rollerblading... that stuff helps a ton.

I just finished my final acupuncture session and I'm officially moving on to homeopathy!! What can I even say... I'm absolutely desperate... I would try anything at this point just to get my head straight. I realize how radical that sounds... but how do you actually fight this stuff?? Nature, massage therapy... I've tried everything under the sun and nothing works. The thing is, I know the exact day, location, and time when this first hit me.

I’ve seen a psychiatrist twice now. However, once I realized their solution was just to hand me a prescription for anxiety or panic meds... I decided I've had quite enough of pills. I have no interest in solving my problems with medication, nor do I wish to become an addict. If this all started because of a shock, then it will pass once I finally process what happened... especially with the support of the people standing by me every day. I am frankly exhausted by doctors who try to push pills on you the second you walk through the door.

I would try just about anything at this point if it meant finally clearing my head. I realize how drastic this shift sounds, but how else does one combat this? I have experimented with everything from herbal remedies to massage therapy, yet nothing provides relief. The most unsettling part is that I can recall the exact day, the exact location, and even the precise hour when these symptoms first manifested.

Hello, Anna
Have you considered visiting an audiologist to have your vestibular system checked? It might be a prudent course of action, as I personally experienced a devastating tragedy—my sister passed away right when my own vertigo episodes began. At the time, I refused to attribute her death to these issues, and it took doctors nearly nine months of searching to identify the actual cause. It seems that whenever they lack a clear diagnosis, they simply prescribe various sedatives. I refused to take those because I have a young child to look after, and I need to maintain total mental clarity.
Furthermore, I find that my dizziness intensifies during shifts in the weather, and I must strictly avoid direct sunlight, as it leaves me completely incapacitated. Best regards.

Have you thought about seeing an audiologist to check your inner ear? It might be a smart move. I actually lost my sister right when my own dizziness started, but I didn't realize there was a connection at the time. It took doctors nearly nine months to figure out what was actually wrong with me. When they're stumped, they just hand out tranquilizers. I refused to take them because I have a little one to look after, and I need to stay sharp.
Also, the weather changes really mess with my balance, and I have to stay out of the sun because it makes me feel completely wiped out. Best,

I haven't made it to the audiologist yet, but it's on my list. I'm going to try this homeopathic treatment first; maybe it'll do the trick. Honestly, hospitals and doctors just frustrate me so much. I'm staying far away from those psychiatric meds too—they're intense, and I have a two-year-old son to care for... which makes everything even harder. I was totally incapacitated for a month after my mom passed away, so the idea of going to neurology alone for all those tests sounds exhausting.

I’ve been dealing with this exact same thing for four years now—just a constant cycle of highs and lows. I feel like I’ve searched for answers a million times, yet somehow nobody seems to have a clue. The mind is such a strange, unpredictable thing; honestly, you’d be surprised at what it can pull on you. It seems like the fear itself just ends up prolonging the symptoms, which doesn't help matters. I’m not quite sure what to tell you right now since I’m going through a pretty stressful stretch myself, so I’m a bit 😁 but you really have to find some kind of peace, whatever method works for you. Otherwise, I guess we're just stuck in a constant fight. If I happen to figure out what actually helps, I’ll let you know.

The only thing that actually gets me through is the unwavering support from my inner circle—my partner and my parents. They’re the only ones who truly saw me at my absolute lowest, and they’re the only ones who understand just how bad things really were. As for everyone else, those people who love to lecture me about "not thinking about it" or, even better, telling me I should just "learn to live with it"... I honestly couldn't care less what they think. Why on earth would I want to learn to live with such a revolting sensation? I have no intention of accepting it as my reality; I intend to push through until this passes, even if I have to kick its teeth in... At the end of the day, life is a struggle. Perhaps we'd find it all rather boring if we weren't occasionally blindsided by these absurdities, or maybe we simply wouldn't appreciate our health if we weren't periodically shaken up by an illness like this. It isn't easy, but hang in there, everyone...

Oh boy... everyone keeps giving me the same old advice: "Just ignore it," "Stop obsessing over it," "Don't talk about it constantly," and so on and so forth. But how on earth am I supposed to just stop thinking about it? If ignoring it were actually possible, I wouldn't be dealing with this mess in the first place! Honestly, it feels like this homeopathic remedy might actually be helping a little bit... though it’s only been four days, so we'll see how things go!

I get where you guys are coming from. To be honest, I’ve started wondering if this has all just migrated into my psyche—I can't tell if I'm actually feeling this or if I'm just making it up at this point, haha. Anyway, I might suggest looking into MMS on some of those alternative health forums; apparently, it wipes out pathogens in the body, and I've felt quite a bit better since I started using it.
