It feels like no matter where you turn lately, everyone you know has lost someone close to them to cancer. It’s reached a point where it’s honestly terrifying how pervasive it is. You're facing a dozen different types of the disease, and it feels like the medical establishment is often just prolonging the inevitable—extending someone's agony for a few extra years of subpar quality of life rather than actually helping. When I was dealing with a close family member's diagnosis, the doctors seemed completely out of their depth, almost paralyzed by the situation. On top of that, the whole system feels fractured; we had endless rounds of testing across various departments that felt totally pointless because the specialists aren't communicating, or the hospitals are so insanely overcrowded that patient care becomes an afterthought. It’s just one systemic failure after another... there's plenty more where that came from.
