So, I’m dealing with some pretty nasty cracked skin on my feet, specifically right underneath the pinky toe and the one next to it.
It feels... well, it's right at the base of the toe, almost as if the skin is splitting so deep that the toe might actually detach itself. What could be causing this, and what should I be doing about it?...

It feels like it's at the base of the toe, almost like the whole thing is going to fall off. What could this be, and what should I do?

Just go see a doctor. It could be a fungal infection or something similar. They'll give you a prescription cream and call it a day.

This is also how athlete's foot shows up on your feet. Definitely get it checked out and treated right away—it can get pretty uncomfortable if you let it linger.

Actually, it is possible for a nail to fall off, just like it happens to some people...

I’ve never actually had this happen to my hands before.
It used to be just my feet—mostly the heels😁 if I wasn't being aggressive enough with the pumice stone.

Now, the skin on my right thumb cracked right on the pad, and it’s stinging like crazy. I know exactly why, too. My hands have been underwater constantly lately—doing endless laundry, scrubbing the oven, washing dishes, you name it. And here we are.

I’ve been using lotion, obviously, but clearly it wasn't enough.

What do you guys do when this happens to you?
It’s getting annoying during my daily routine, and from what I can see, the crack is widening instead of healing...

You should probably start wearing gloves...

just wear gloves...

try using some melem... honestly, it’s a miracle worker for stuff like this...

And stay away from harsh chemicals on that specific finger for a while...

Back when I was in the military, my skin would crack constantly because we weren't allowed to wear gloves until the temperature hit something ridiculous like -456'C 🙂

The cracks on my wrists were getting so bad they were nearly 3mm deep...

melem fixed everything...

To prevent this from happening again—whenever you notice your hands starting to feel dry—just go ahead and apply a really thick layer of moisturizer. You could use that Balein calendula cream; I think it’s only about $10 at CVS. Then, just pop some gloves over them... or, if you're like me and don't want to waste money on specialized treatment gloves, just use a pair of old socks.
The key is to apply it heavily—I'm talking multiple layers.
It feels a little awkward, I know, but your hands will feel absolutely reborn by the morning... try doing this twice a week... or, if your skin is looking truly catastrophic, maybe even more often.

In the meantime, to help speed up the healing process, grab some St. John's Wort oil—you can find it at Walgreens or any local pharmacy. It's wonderful for wound healing and even helps with hemorrhoids... just keep tracking it and rubbing it in several times throughout the day!

Good luck!!!🙂

If you find that working becomes a total nuisance because your skin is stinging or just feels overly greasy, there is an easy fix—you can actually pick up those latex finger cots at any drugstore... just be careful not to wear them for too long, or else your skin won't get a chance to breathe.

As for me, I recently ended up with a split in the skin right by my nail—mostly because my gloves gave out on me, and I had spent the entire day scrubbing things with bleach, which didn't help since the air in the house is so incredibly dry from the heater. To make matters worse... I actually stepped outside without gloves that day, even though it was freezing out. So, please, do yourself a favor and start wearing wool gloves! And definitely keep a good moisturizer tucked away in your bag.

Well, I figured I’d jump in here and offer a little bit of advice of my own.
For years, my hands were in absolutely terrible shape. It was especially bad during the winter months; the moment I stepped out of the house, my hands would literally turn blue, and the skin was so cracked and dry that it would actually bleed if I stretched them too far. I tried every single cream under the sun—it felt like an endless cycle of testing products—until one day, almost on a whim, I picked up some Neutrogena... and it was a total game-changer! My skin feels incredibly soft and healthy now. Even if I happen to forget to apply it for a couple of days, my skin stays looking brand new because of how much it helped initially. I honestly can't recommend Neutrogena enough. 🙂

Does anyone have any advice? My skin is cracking all over my stomach, and I’m honestly panicking because I don't want it to look terrible. Please, if you have any tips on how to stop this from happening, let me know urgently. I really need some help here.

Grab a decent moisturizing lotion—something like Nivea cream lotion or a hydrating body wash. That should help. You can DM me if you want more specifics, or just hit up a CVS if that doesn't do the trick.

I’m not entirely sure if I phrased this correctly, but I’ve developed some significant skin texture issues on my abdomen—most people just refer to it as cellulite. My question is, can I actually smooth out that orange peel texture through plastic surgery?

So you're telling us you've actually developed stretch marks? 😕
Honestly, they can be such a pain because they don't just disappear overnight—though, if you're lucky, they do start to fade over time.
But hey, you can definitely get ahead of it! Using some good quality creams or lotions can really help prevent new ones from popping up. 🙂

Do you think these stretch marks I noticed yesterday are a legitimate reason to go see a dermatologist?
