Just curious—are there any followers of Emmanuel Mounier or readers of The Atlantic on this forum? I won't bore everyone by listing the core tenets of the movement here; if you aren't familiar, Wikipedia is probably your best bet:

Animals possess their own distinct personalities, characters, social hierarchies within their herds, and, of course, free will. It feels somewhat arrogant to position humanity at the absolute center of existence when we know full well that our actions are driving the global warming that threatens to wipe out nearly all life on this planet. Does this truly make us a dominant species, or does it simply reveal us to be foolish and irresponsible? I believe that personalism is merely the consequence of a fundamental misunderstanding of the world and everything contained within it.

I wouldn't go so far as to call myself a follower of any specific school of thought, but I find myself nodding along to the central argument. It’s a pretty spot-on warning: seeing capitalism celebrate the collapse of communism is a bit like watching one twin gloat over the death of its sibling. Communism didn't just fall apart out of nowhere; it succumbed to inherent, degenerative flaws—the exact same ones that are currently eating away at capitalism. The things that brought down the old system are actively undermining the current one, too. On the surface, they look different, but in essence Marx would say the differences are mostly superficial.

For me, it isn't really about being a devotee of a certain ideology; it's more about just following common sense and logic. To be honest, I haven't done a deep dive into the specific works mentioned, but from what I’ve gathered, their reasoning sounds incredibly sound. I hope that doesn't make me a follower of 😁

It feels like you're trying to cover the entire playbook here without really looking at the stats... maybe take a quick second to read the summaries in those links provided? Because this version of personalism isn't about anthropocentrism, nor is it focused on some sort of "ranking" system between people and animals.😉

Even in our wildest dreams, "communism" (or what we often call socialism here) was really just capitalism in disguise—with the government acting as the sole proprietor.
