I’m expecting nothing less than a masterpiece from this legend—honestly, I’ve always been a huge fan of his work, both behind the camera and in front of it.

That would be pretty great.

But only if they actually stick to the vibe of the original movie—instead of whatever mess the series turned into by the fourth installment.

So we’re finally gonna get a look at how Inspector Gadget actually cracks the case on why that serial killer John Doe keeps leaving those weird wedge-shaped letters behind while the ultra-rich are busy wiping out all the gators in the Mississippi River.

The fourth one with Jet Li isn't actually bad. Honestly, the guy completely outshined Gibson.

I don't really get why everyone is trashing the fourth installment. Honestly, those fight scenes with Jet Li are legendary. And I mean, one of the absolute best moments in the whole series has to be the part with Joe Pesci.

I'm just not looking forward to the fifth one. It’s probably too late for them at this point.
Knowing how Gibson works, he and Glover will probably just end up as side characters who die off just to make some new team look good—you know, that whole cliché where the new crew is supposed to be just like they were back in the day.

I haven't revisited the fourth one yet, but I'm pretty sure it was alright enough.
I'll check it out once Deadpool 5 drops.

It’s almost like they were filmed for a completely different movie—that’s just how they feel—they don't belong in Lethal Weapon at all, but hey, I guess those scenes were actually the best part of the flick...

One of the absolute highlights has to be that moment with Joe Pesci.

In the fourth one, Leo Getz is turned into this pathetic little creature rambling about crushed frogs. It's such a massive departure from how he was in the second and third movies, where he was actually this charming little loudmouth...

Well, it was too late for the fourth one too, and it still managed to turn out okay-ish. The real issue with that movie was just throwing way too many new characters at us, and man, I can't stress enough how much I couldn't stand Chris Rock...

Knowing Mel Gibson, he and Danny Glover will just end up being side characters who die off just to make room for some new "younger" version of them to take over.

I think I saw some synopsis floating around about the two of them being retired and then coming back into the fray to help Roger's son crack a tough case. It sounded decent—pretty grounded, actually—but the big question is whether they'll actually stick to that or just go off the rails...

The first two Lethal Weapon movies were just solid, straight-up action thrillers—they had those funny bits sprinkled in, sure, but they worked. Once you hit the third installment, though, the comedy started taking over the driver's seat, and by the fourth one, it was honestly pretty hard to sit through.

I’d always looked at this franchise as kind of an embarrassment, which is why the news about a potential sequel actually caught my attention—I wouldn't mind seeing how they handle it. Plus, it’s always a win to see Mel Gibson back in a leading role.

Honestly, once Richard Donner passed, they should've just left the franchise alone.

I think the fourth one holds up pretty well—the humor is definitely a bit thinner, but it’s alright.
Chris Rock is probably their weakest link here, but he actually manages to find a rhythm when he's paired up with Joe Pesci.
I have a feeling Mel Gibson will nail it, especially if they can talk him into
throwing a Superman movie into the mix too. Now that would be something worth seeing.😁

I still remember watching the second one... when they killed off his woman, man, I was livid! I just wanted to see him tear them all apart—which, well, he did. 😁 I honestly wish movies could still stir up that kind of raw emotion in me—that feeling where you’re just sitting there, totally hooked, watching the hero take down every last one of the bad guys.

The actress who played Mel's girlfriend is Patsy Kensit.
She was only 21 in "Lethal Weapon 2," and she was incredibly stunning back then.
Now she's 53 and looks like your typical washed-up former starlet who's had way too much work done.

One massive headache for the production is gonna be the title itself. I mean, how do you even go about it when Lethal Weapon 5 & 6 are already out there?

I read somewhere that they actually approached Jackie Chan before settling on Jet Li for the fourth installment—but he turned it down because he wasn't interested in playing a villain.
Jet Li is absolutely top-tier in this one; honestly, the fourth movie is great. I’m really curious to see how Mel handles a classic action flick, especially since his directing credits have mostly been those massive epic spectacles.
That said, I think Danny Glover might be past his prime. Maybe he'll just end up with a smaller role.

Danny Glover, or rather, Danny "I'm too old for this shit" Glover, is actually at the perfect age for that role now 🙂

Predator 2 actually had a pretty brutal villain. A legit challenge, for sure.

He was throwing hands, jumping around, scaling walls—the guy was just in peak physical condition.
