Dealing with comedogenic breakouts

So, I just got back from seeing my dermatologist, and it turns out I have a comedogenic cyst right by the corner of my mouth.
The doctor mentioned that if I want it gone for good, I'll need to see a surgeon.
I have two big questions for you all: First, has anyone here actually gone through this process before?
Second, would it be smarter to book an appointment with a plastic surgeon instead? Since this is right on my face near my lips, I’m really nervous about leaving behind
a huge, noticeable scar.

In my amateur opinion, you might not even need to see a surgeon for this. A skilled aesthetician could probably make an incision and clear it out for you.
There’s a chance it could heal on its own, but it would likely be less hassle and cheaper than booking a surgical consultation.
Maybe do a little more digging first,
though, of course, everything really comes down to how big and deep the cyst actually is.

A buddy of mine had something similar on his cheek a few years back and went to some high-end private plastic surgeon to get it fixed. Honestly, he ended up with a noticeable scar and had to deal with wearing a bandage for ages. Then, about a year and a half later, the whole thing popped right back up in the exact same spot. He finally went to the Democratic Party hospital to get it handled properly, and man, they sorted him out perfectly—you can't even tell anything happened.

You should definitely go see a plastic surgeon; they’ll be able to ensure the scar is minimal. After all, we're talking about your face here.

I actually already checked with a dermatologist, and they told me I really have to go the surgical route because it's "rooted" deep into the tissue. Yikes...
The majority-already had one of these cleared once before, but then a new one started popping up. This one is still tiny, though, so I’d love to just knock them both out in one fell swoop since I can see them both growing—slowly, but surely. So...😳

I actually already checked with a dermatologist, and they told me it has to be surgically removed because it's basically "anchored" into the tissue. Yikes...
The thing is, the majority-already had one of these cleared once before, and then a second one started popping up. Since this new one is still tiny, I'm thinking about just knocking them both out at once, since I can see them both growing—slowly, but they're definitely getting there. So... 😳
