Hey guys, I’m running into a massive headache with the fan on my Dell Latitude.
Basically, this thing started overheating like crazy, shutting itself down after maybe 20 minutes of use.
So, naturally, I went ahead and cleaned everything out and swapped the thermal paste.
It actually stayed alive a bit longer after that, but then the heat returned and it started dying on me again.
I finally realized the fan itself was dead, so I figured, "fine, just order a new one."
Once the replacement arrived, I carefully opened the laptop, swapped it in, and fired it up.
And wouldn't you know it? The brand-new fan won't spin either. Weirdly enough, when I hooked the old fan up to a spare battery I had lying around, it spun just fine—same as the new one.
I even updated the BIOS thinking that might fix some weird communication issue.
I'm honestly losing my mind here, so if anyone has any ideas on what's going on, I'd really appreciate the help.
Thanks
