I would strongly suggest performing a completely fresh, clean installation of Windows 10, or perhaps even stepping back to something like Windows 7 or 8.1. In my estimation, the most prudent course of action would be to format the entire drive to ensure you are starting from a truly pristine state. If the issue persists after such an undertaking, then we must face the rather likely reality that your wireless card has simply reached the end of its functional life, necessitating a replacement. It isn't a particularly daunting or expensive fix, and since your laptop is an older model, I suspect the hardware is quite accessible for a quick swap without much fuss. For that very reason, I believe you might find more stability by opting for Windows 7 or 8.1 instead.
