Not totally sure if this is the right spot for this... If I'm barking up the wrong tree, feel free to move this 😵
So, I've got this laptop that’s basically brand new—only two months old. It's running Windows 10 Pro, fully activated, and all the updates are rolling in without any issues at all.
But here’s the kicker: every once in a while when I'm watching a movie (streaming via VLC Media Player), the audio goes totally wonky... It sounds like it's being played back in slow motion, even though the picture looks perfectly fine. Like, halfway through a movie, the sound just warps, so I close out VLC Media Player and try playing something on YouTube instead. Same exact thing happens.... If I restart the laptop, everything goes back to normal.... At first, I was convinced it was some crappy driver issue or maybe something hardware-related with the machine itself.... But then yesterday, I get a video sent to my phone over iMessage. I open it up and—get this—it's the same damn thing on my phone! The video is smooth, but the audio is all distorted. Now, keep in mind, my phone was on the same home Wi-Fi network as my laptop. And on the laptop, this happens whether I'm on Wi-Fi or plugged straight into the ethernet....
Then, I switch my phone over to a different network and the video plays perfectly fine.....
That's when it hit me—there's definitely something messed up with my internet connection specifically.
I have no clue if it's my router acting up or if the ISP is just feeding me garbage service....
My connection speed is sitting at about 10 Mbps.
Anyone got any clues as to what the hell could be causing this??
