So, my son was messing around on the computer and somehow managed to split his desktop into 4 tiny, identical windows. Honestly, he’s got some skills, but I have zero clue how he did it or how to fix it. I've been Googling like crazy but nothing's making sense. Any ideas? Help a guy out!

Are you sure the screen is actually split, or are you just seeing the same image x4 on your monitor?

Yeah, just the same image 4x on my screen.

Wait, which version of Windows are we talking about? I seem to recall being able to do this back on the old XP days... 😁 Honestly, if you just swap out the background for a different image, the whole thing should be sorted out.

Windows 10. Tried switching to a different background pic but no luck, it's still stuck at x4 🙂

Is the image an exact match? Like, are you seeing the Windows taskbar and mouse cursor at x4 scale?

If that's the case, it's possible your display settings are set to show input at x4.

Yeah, yeah!!! Everything is multiplied by 4—mouse cursor, taskbar, the whole deal... So I just gotta dig through my monitor settings to fix this? Gonna go give that a shot. Thanks!!!

I've been staring at my monitor settings for ages, but I honestly have no clue what I should even be tweaking. Or is there something I need to mess with in Windows?

All fixed! Thanks a ton for the hand. I’m kinda embarrassed to admit it, but turns out my monitor cables were just loose and acting up... once I plugged everything back in properly, it was all good again.
