What’s actually good for detoxing? Looking to flush out my kidneys and just... clear everything out.
Anyone got a solid recipe πŸ™‚ or a specific supplement they swear by?

Thanks

Jane Alexander actually wrote a book about this exact topic; I think it's called How to Purify Mind and Body.

Alright, thanks for the heads-up... but who’s actually going to go hunt down this book? πŸ˜‰ I'll try to track it down eventually, but in the meantime...

Can you just give us a quick rundown of what's even in there? πŸ™‚

So, what makes you think you're "full of toxins" anyway? Did you fall down some weird rabbit hole online, or is it just a gut feeling?

Look, if you actually want to be healthy, just stick to the basicsβ€”drink enough water (like, at least 60 ounces a day), eat whatever your nutritionist tells you to, and get some decent exercise in... nothing crazy, just move.

Or, hey, you could always just keep reading those pseudoscience self-help books, convince yourself you're doing something productive, and suddenly that whole "toxic" feeling will just vanish into thin air. πŸ™‚

It’s actually not about meβ€”it's for someone close to me. And yeah, the lab results basically say a detox would be a good move...

Wait, really? Could you actually dive a bit deeper into those studies? I’m always super curious about what people are actually talking about when they start throwing around the word "toxins"... like, what does that even mean in this context?

Ugh, I was literally just about to type the exact same thing... like, what does it actually say in the lab results? What are these toxins even called?πŸ˜•

Look, I'm no doctor, so don't take my word for it... all I know is that's what the report says. πŸ˜•

I mean, I don't get itβ€”if you can't actually see the report and you aren't able to read through it, what are you even basing your whole opinion on?

And hey, why not throw some cucumber juice into the mixβ€”could be a game changer. 😎

To put it simply, the book suggests taking a weekend or even an entire month to focus on a total detox.
The idea is to cut out coffee, dairy, and white flour entirely, while keeping your food intake as minimal as possible.
Beyond just what you eat, the author emphasizes the importance of bathsβ€”think Epsom salt soaks, vinegar baths, or something soothing with lavender.
Once you're done soaking, you just wrap yourself up in a warm towel and take it easy.
Stick to herbal teas, and try to steer clear of hairsprays or any cosmetics that aren't all-natural.
And most importantly, drink plenty, plenty of fluids.

Is she actually allowed in the sauna?

Oh, sorry about that! I was just about to type that exact thing when my phone started ringing.πŸ™‚

She’s laughing in the sauna, and he’s actually suggesting this DIY version of the treatment.
Basically, you fill up three heating pads with hot water, take an apple cider vinegar bath, and then lie down on a damp sheet. You place the heating pads on your feet, your stomach, and your chestβ€”or something like thatβ€”wrap yourself up tightly in the wet sheet, and just stay there for about 45 minutes.
Supposedly, by the end, the sheet is practically covered in spots from all the toxins being pulled out.

He also mentions you really need someone to help you get wrapped up properly.

I just saw a segment on TV about spring detoxing to cleanse the body of toxins. They featured an overseas companyβ€”I think they were based in Europeβ€”that sells these syrups or tablets designed for detoxification. It's all plant-based, naturally, though I can't recall the specific brand name. The entire process takes about ten days. You should check with a local health food store; they usually carry these kinds of supplements.πŸ˜‰
