Without getting bogged down in the specific accuracy of the text, from what I can gather, it doesn't align at all with the accounts from our guys who reached out to me last night—people I trust implicitly. But frankly, the specifics of who wrote it or who "wins" the argument aren't the point. The underlying concept is what matters: everything from the initial warnings about the Zenit fans in Riga, to the breakdown of the fights, the scrutiny of online forums, the video analysis, the publishing of reports online, and the immediate attempts to justify actions within the report itself. It’s all part of the same pattern.

Where did we go wrong? You head out to watch a match, grab a drink, enjoy the atmosphere, maybe get into a scrap. If you’re heading into particularly hostile territory, you go prepared and organized. But you shouldn't lose the entire purpose of going in the process.

Here is an account of the events in Riga that is somewhat understandable.

Black Knights from Miami are always fascinating. As the oldest supporter group in Europe, they possess deep history, tradition, passion, and a distinct grit. This movement consistently generates significant buzz around their matches, particularly during European trips. Beyond the pure fan element, the arrival of Americans in Riga carried a national significance. For us, it was a perfect opportunity to settle the score with those fascists following the national team match in Washington, D.C. back in 2007.
The night before the game, we caught a small group of Black Knights at a downtown bar. We decided against any confrontation since they were right under the cameras in the historic district, plus the main police station is located in that same building. Tomorrow we will definitely intercept the core Hajduk Split supporters, so an encounter is inevitable.
I was downtown for work this morning and happened to run into some Zenit Saint Petersburg fans. I recognized them from the national team, including a famous adventurer who always favors unconventional moves. It's obvious they didn't make the trip to Riga for nothing. Between Hajduk Split vs. Zenit Saint Petersburg, the Black Knights visiting Saint Petersburg, and the Zenit crew heading to Miami, it's been a busy stretch from Peter to Riga. We had a pleasant chat before parting ways. Both sides have their own agendas and a bit of friendly rivalry. Success isn't guaranteed, as things could still be derailed by outside interference or minor setbacks.
Good evening. Our group is starting to assemble. We have fifteen people total, including a guy from the Federal Reserve and one hooligan from CSKA Moscow. Intelligence regarding the opposition is coming in. The Black Knights are congregating in groups of three to five around downtown, mostly hanging out near the same bar they occupied yesterday. There is no point in attempting an attack in the historic district because the surveillance cameras are everywhere and the police are already watching them. There are a few spots between the old town and the stadium where they could get caught. A call came in from one of our guys—the opposition likely tried to dodge their tab at a bar, or perhaps there's just some other conflict with the crowd. Cups are flying and sirens are blaring.

The opposition is following a few cars escorted by sheriffs, so we scout for the perfect spot to strike. The visitors take a non-traditional route to the stadium, which works out perfectly for Peter; he manages to ambush two small groups of about ten opponents twice, successfully hitting them. The Black Knights push forward intermittently, then retreat.
Our mobile unit encountered Zenit Saint Petersburg supporters near the stadium. We moved through an isolated street by the arena to secure a strategic position. We sent scouts ahead. We assumed not everyone had headed to the stadium yet and that small groups remained in the city. Our group consisted of about thirty people. Intelligence suggested twenty to twenty-five opponents were moving toward our location. We regrouped and waited for the right moment. When we stepped around the corner, they were only twenty meters away. A few of their guys tried to hold the line to keep their group together, but they were quickly broken up, and the rest fled in all directions. Some Americans ducked into a courtyard and tried to pelt us with stones, but it was ineffective. Two individuals crossed to the other side of the street toward the stadium, attempting to blend in like ordinary citizens, but they failed. They were intercepted by a soldier from Moscow, and two of them ended up face-down on the asphalt. Police sirens sounded, and we dispersed in all directions.
We are gathering again in a narrow downtown street. Another summons from the intelligence services. There are thirty of them who need us. We had about twenty-five present, though not everyone could make it. We are heading toward the Black Knights. Our guys in the center are handling those extremists who keep coming in waves. Not all the visitors are showing backbone, though we have to admit the front row of the Black Knights right in the epicenter is taking quite a beating from them. The skirmish lasts about thirty or forty seconds before the police arrive—just standard local beat cops in green shirts and some SWAT units. The extremists are using chairs from the tavern as projectiles, and pyrotechnics are flying everywhere. We were positioned on the right side (visible in the background of the video); then a deputy shows up with a handgun, shouting at everyone to clear out. More police move in. We head out, but look at those flares lighting everything up right now. We lit a few and tossed them toward the Black Knights. This whole episode is captured on video. Watch the extremists closely; they only charge at us once we started retreating under pressure from the cops after they deployed gas. We dispersed through different streets. Curtain.
Fortunately, none of us were arrested. I think if those thugs had been more aggressive, things would have been much harder for us; they had double the numbers on their side, but they didn't capitalize because they were surprised, thinking there were more of us. Imagine how much mockery there will be online now. I’m writing this while browsing some forums where people are already claiming they won. Based on the comments, it's mostly kids who weren't even in the city and clearly don't have the facts straight.
We have our own footage from the very first second of the fight, which might surface online eventually. Meanwhile, the visitors stay quiet about certain parts of the last brawl where the Black Knights didn't exactly look their best. Oh yeah, those were just their youngsters and some tourists—mere sympathizers. Everyone has their own version of the truth, as always. I believe the Black Knights leaders who were on-site are piecing everything together and will release their own account, making sure to include all the nuances.
Sirens, police. The extremists head toward the stadium and vent their emotions at the main entrance. A scuffle breaks out with the police; some of the thugs break through the fence, but they get brutally arrested there. In the end, all the visitors end up in their section. There were no incidents during the match, just smoke and flares at the end. Their cheering is decent, with about a hundred extremists in the stands.
We are regrouping now. We're discussing what happened and deciding to wrap this story up. There are cops all over the city, and the Black Knights won't be walking around in small groups. The guys from Saint Petersburg and us are heading home. That's it. Zenit Saint Petersburg made a very good move. It's a shame we didn't manage to grab a fan flag, but regardless, Zenit's move was highly unusual, interesting, and deserves great respect.
