So, I’m sitting here dealing with some pretty annoying stomach issues from dinner tonight, 😢 which actually got me thinking...
What do you guys usually turn to when you get a sudden bout of diarrhea? Growing up, my mom always had two go-to remedies—either a little bit of dark chocolate or a grated apple that had been sitting out just long enough to turn a bit brown. I usually lean toward the apple thing... but honestly, I don't quite grasp the science behind why it works. Even now, less than half an hour after trying it, I can already feel things settling down.
Does anyone else have their own little trick or remedy?

Not quite. They still need to eat.
The enterocytes—those little cells lining your gut—rely entirely on whatever's passing through to stay fueled. That’s why even when you've got diarrhea, you can't just stop eating; you still need to hit those macros—carbs, proteins, fats... all of it. The only thing you really want to dodge is high-fiber stuff, heavy spices, or anything that’s going to irritate things further. This diet covers all the bases without kicking the gut while it's down. Honestly, trying to "stop" diarrhea isn't just unnecessary, it can actually be bad news because you're basically trapping the pathogens in there longer. It gives me the chills whenever I see doctors prescribing Seldiar for infectious cases in general practice... 😱

And my mom was actually telling me tonight that I should try it with bananas too... though I haven't quite gotten around to testing that out yet.

Dark tea will definitely do the trick...

Try this combo and you'll feel better instantly.

Chocolate, Coca-Cola 😁—that’s what I heard at least 🙂.

Or maybe it's just one of those classic cases of selective hearing, where people only pick up what they want to believe 😁.

As far as chocolate goes, I’m pretty sure it’s only the baking kind that actually does the trick—I wouldn't dream of messing around with any of the other varieties.
Coca-Cola? Now that just sounds a little bit off to me.

Activated charcoal. 😁
I’m sticking to mushy white rice. And Coke. Plus some dark chocolate.
Bananas too—the riper, the better. And maybe some yogurt or those probiotic shots from CVS.

Probiotics, some electrolyte solutions like Pedialyte, maybe some Pepto-Bismol, or even just a tiny drop of high-quality bourbon on a spoonful of raw coffee grounds—and don't forget hemp tea, which is one of those old-school remedies you'd find in a grandmother's kitchen back in the day...

All you eat is that stale bread from a grocery store bag and some tea.

Oh yeah, you know, I totally blanked on the tea thing, but I had no idea rosehip was actually good for that! Honestly, I’ve just been sticking to that Indian blend

Man, I burnt my toast—and I mean *really* scorched it, almost black. But honestly, if you’re constantly dealing with digestive issues, a much better fix might be grabbing some probiotic yogurt like Chobani; that should hopefully get everything back in balance... right?

So, I messed up again yesterday...😠
Two pieces of charcoal and I'm fine—usually. That day, I just had some dry toast and tea, mostly chamomile, no sugar.

The worst part is when those cramps hit—I honestly don't know where to turn with the pain😢

I’ve just been sticking to a routine of double-strength tea and some ginger root sautéed in oil.

Two saccharin sweetener tablets—works 100% (well, at least in my experience) 😉
