Dirty hands?!

Can someone tell me if I could actually "catch" some kind of illness? I’m a total germaphobe, and it drives me absolutely crazy that my brother spends all day outside and then comes running in without washing his hands. He starts messing with my makeup, my hairbrush, everything. I'm low-key terrified I'll pick up some nasty bug from him. Maybe it sounds stupid, but it doesn't feel that way to me. 🤷

Hepatitis A is no joke—it's literally nicknamed the "dirty hands" disease. And honestly, there's a whole laundry list of other things you could pick up.
You need to get that kid under control. Grab him some hand sanitizer from a CVS or something; maybe if it's right there, he'll actually bother using it.
In the meantime, just wash your own hands more often until he grows up a bit.

I’ve been using that liquid soap from Target, the one with honey and milk, and I guess it just smells really nice on my hands after washing them.
It’s such a pleasant scent, maybe that’s why I like it so much.
I suppose we should probably make sure the little ones learn the importance of washing their hands while they're still young enough to listen, though I wonder how old they actually are right now?

Honestly, I feel like an idiot constantly checking my skin and makeup after he’s been around. It's like I've become some kind of paranoid security guard or something. I seriously never touch my stuff right when I get home from being out... can you actually catch nipple infections or some other skin disease from this?! Thanks for any advice 😉

I'm not entirely sure about warts, but you could catch just about anything. Bacteria is a huge risk. Maybe try teaching him how to wash his hands properly, or like someone else suggested, tell him to just use hand sanitizer.

He used to have this weird habit of bringing in random junk he found outside.🙏
One time, he dragged in some chemical marker. As soon as I touched it, my hand broke out in this crazy rash!!!😁

I can totally imagine how you felt.. For me, the absolute worst part is when someone comes in from the city without even washing their hands after grabbing handles on buses, subways, or whatever else 😳

I honestly don't get how some people didn't learn basic hand washing as kids. It's not rocket science.

Nothing gets under my skin more than someone walking out of the restroom without washing their hands. It’s especially infuriating when it’s a young woman acting like she's some kind of high-society lady. ☕
And the absolute best part? They head straight into the kitchen to wash the dishes—the very same dishes I’m supposed to eat from. 🤮
Then they have the audacity to laugh at me, acting like I'm just being obsessive about hand hygiene. 😱 🤦

That’s exactly why I stopped handing out cigarettes when people ask... I watched this coworker walk out of the breakroom without even washing his hands, then he has the nerve to ask me for a smoke, reaching right into my pack with those filthy hands. I’m supposed to just stick whatever he touches straight into my mouth? It’s beyond gross—I’m legit worried about catching some random disease. 😕

It honestly makes my skin crawl whenever I witness that behavior. It’s hard to wrap my head around how someone can just grab a pastry with bare hands right after being out in public without a second thought... 😲 🙂
I've made it a habit to always carry some disinfectant wipes (Clorox) because I feel much better cleaning my hands after riding the subway or stopping by local convenience stores—those places always seem like such concentrated hotspots for germs. 🙂

Exactly!! When I buy something like that, I never touch it with my hands—I use the paper wrapper, or I'll even hunt for a bag.. we all know you can catch hepatitis, stomach bugs, or whatever else from that crap😕
