Dream Collaborations

The whole point of this thread is to toss out some dream collaboration ideas—you know, those pairings that could actually result in something legendary. I’m feeling inspired because I just finished listening to Departure lounge's "Too Young to Die," which was produced by Kid Loco, and it hit me: it would be absolutely incredible if Kid Loco took the helm to produce an album for Jim Morrison!

I'm being dead serious here.

Heh, I honestly can’t imagine those unreal tracks sounding any different with this specific lineup. Even Saša Habić mentioned after the fact that he felt almost silly taking a production fee; the guys in the band had such a crystal-clear vision of the sonic direction before they even stepped into the studio. He was really just there to help them execute their own blueprint.

I mean, when you listen to it, could that album possibly sound any better than it already does?

Nooo, that’s not what I meant. I wasn't talking about things being "unreal" (even if that sounds cool), but more like, say, an imaginary new project.

The absolute fantasy: SYR 8 : Sonic Youth + Paul Verlaine

Imagine Tom Waits mixed with Napalm Death; pure grindcore driven by those heavy Waits / Brennan arrangements, somewhere in the vein of "Blood Money" or "Bone Machine".

Man, what I wouldn't give for that...
