Greetings, lovely ladies!
I’m also one of those brides getting married in September—and since I only moved to NYC a few months ago, I’ve found so much helpful info right here on this forum, so thank you all!
My fiancé is away during the week, so I’ve been left to my own devices for all the wedding hunting—and here is what I’ve managed to track down so far...
- I really have to rave about Suza and Grafoart...http://www.pozivnice.org/
I noticed a lot of you do things yourself, but trust me—even though our guest list won't be massive, for the price I paid, DIY just wasn't worth it! My invitations were about $1.75 including printing and envelopes (pearlized paper, lavender ink...) and, just like everything else I ordered from them, they look incredibly professional... the same goes for the favors... I ordered lavender, scented candles, and more from them too...
The best part is that you can coordinate everything... just check out their site, and once you reach out and explain your vision, the lady makes sample proofs and emails you photos before you officially commit!
Shipping to NYC cost me about $23 and everything arrives right at your doorstep...
My only tiny complaint—which the owner promised to fix at her own expense—was that the bracelets and the bridesmaid favors were a little smaller than I expected. Since they were out of stock for the specific material I wanted, she promised to send the correct ones in August at no extra charge to me. All in all, I am beyond happy! I know many people in California think it's impossible to get this kind of service because the company is based in Djibouti—but it totally is!
For other little things—like seashells, balloons, and tulle—I ordered from IBM in NYC, but since my brother lives in NYC, he just brought them to me... though you might want to check if they ship to other areas too...
Someone here asked about Verizon... we went and bought 1-2kg samples, and literally everyone says their treats are amazing! The lady is so sweet and gives great advice—we're actually going to order the cake from them too... everything is customizable...
So, that's the start...🙂 This post might be a bit long, but I wanted to share what I've learned so far...
Now, if I may ask a few questions... 😉
I'm leaning towards a wedding dress, because I'm imagining something simple—nothing with huge crinolines or corsets... does anyone know a good seamstress, or should I try my luck at a department store like most people?
Hair—I want something simple too... maybe an updo braid? Nothing over-sprayed with three layers of hairspray...
Makeup—same thing... as natural as possible with minimal makeup.
The wedding will be in Malibu, similar to the reception... an intimate circle of people, near the ocean...
I would love some recommendations and phone numbers!
And thanks again to everyone who has shared such useful info so far! Greetings
