We finally sorted out the accordion player for the music... woohoo! Found a guy from San Diego through a recommendation, gave him a call, and settled on $150. Feeling pretty good about it 😍

Could someone give me a quick rundown of exactly which documents I need to pull together for a wedding? We’re doing the classic church ceremony... I know I have to head to the registrar first, but does anyone know how much lead time I actually need? My wedding is set for October 16th.
it feels way too early to even be thinking about this...

Ira Commerce is in San Diego, and Rose is in Los Angeles....

Thanks a lot... I'll head over to Ira Commerce this afternoon, though the timing is pretty rough for those of us working until 4 or 5...

You can find all of that over at Ira Commerce, though you'll have to spend a little minimum $100 if you're looking through their wedding packages; otherwise, you'd need to bill it to a business or a firm. You might also have some luck at Rose Commerce over in Meadow near Dakota, or perhaps check out IBM over in Pazdigrad....

Hi everyone,

Here are some thoughts from a woman originally from the Midwest who happened to be visiting your neck of the woods down there last Friday...😁
Location: San Diego
The dining room was actually quite relaxing—it’s a newer space, very tastefully done with these crisp white tablecloths and lovely round tables that really set a nice mood. As for the food, I have to say it was absolutely delicious. We had everything from prosciutto and cheese to soup, octopus, tuna pâté, black risotto, white risotto, beef stew, and gnocchi. Everything tasted wonderful and the portions were quite generous. If I had to give it a rating, I’d probably settle on a 5. 👍
Now, I have to mention the one thing that truly blew me away: the band... Calypso. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever been quite this impressed by a musical group before. Their vocals were absolutely stellar, especially the female vocalists—they were just incredible. Their repertoire is massive, too; they cover everything from local hits to international classics, and they perform them with such seamless precision that half of my guests didn't even realize a live band was playing. They actually thought we were just playing high-quality studio recordings for the first dance! It was such a polished performance. My friend also had an accordion player and a guy on guitar stepping in whenever the main band members took their breaks, which I thought was a really clever touch. All in all, the music was simply top-notch.🙏🙏🙏

If anyone out there is still on the fence about which band to go with, I’d honestly say you should give Calypso a look. I guess they might be just the right choice if you're looking for something solid.

Greetings from the Midwest!👋

So, who’s actually worth looking at when it comes to photo brands? Any recommendations?

Help me out here...

Does anyone have the scoop on good spots for duck or mill-style food in San Diego or maybe near a coastal town like Malibu?

I can't speak for the mill, but if you mean Kaštel Slanica (assuming it's the one in San Diego), it’s absolutely top-tier. 😉 My niece had her wedding there, and I've visited a few times myself—the food is incredible. 🙏

Hey everyone, I urgently need a recommendation for a solid makeup artist—I’ve only got a few weeks left before my big event... I am honestly just exhausted from being totally disappointed so far; either they’re way too expensive or they just suck... if you don't mind sharing the price too, that would be amazing, thanks so much!

Yeah, he's the one...
I was thinking about hosting a little christening for the baby over there... I mean, more like a lunch party...🤣

You should try reaching out to Jacqueline Ilak; she does all the makeup for those local news anchors on ABC, but unfortunately, I don't have her rates handy.

Hey ladies!
So, I’m finally diving headfirst into the world of wedding planning—wish me luck. We’re looking at a guest list of roughly 110 to 130 people, likely somewhere in the San Francisco area. The goal is to find a venue within the city itself, maybe in one of the suburbs, or even out toward the outskirts. Since we have guests traveling in from New York City, I’d really love a restaurant that can also accommodate about 40 people overnight. I’ll be starting my venue tours soon, but I could really use some guidance before I head out. Honestly, I haven't the slightest clue how pricing works—is $32 per person considered a steal, or is $40 pushing it? What should I actually expect to pay, and what counts as "reasonable"? Quality is my priority, but I have zero interest in throwing money down the drain. If anyone happens to know what a standard prix fixe menu costs at Friends, Diocletian, or San Antonio, please let me know! :-)
Also, what’s the deal with live music lately? Is $1,000 for a solo vocalist—someone in the vein of M. Boem—overpriced? And what would a group like Uber or The Beatles typically charge? On top of that, I need a ballpark figure for wedding videography, including photos and a physical album. We really need to nail down a rough budget first so we can figure out our next moves...
I’m not sure if we’re already behind the curve, but we’re aiming for late April or May 2010.
Thanks a million!

$32 is way too low. You should probably budget anywhere from $35 to $40 per person.
The Beatles cost about $1,000 (at least that was their rate this summer). Photographer and videographer prices vary wildly depending on what you're after... for a decent mid-range package, a photographer like Marko might ask for $1,300.

I'm having my reception at the Castello venue—$36 for a standard menu. Honestly, if you're looking at that timeframe, you might want to lock things in now since so many venues get booked up fast. A band will run you around $1,700... and expect to pay about $1,000 for a photographer.

Has anyone here actually ordered pastries from that bakery in Columbus—the one run by Accenture? I'm thinking about placing an order right now, so I'd love to hear your honest thoughts.

So, we went ahead and booked the pirate theme—cost us about $45—plus a wedding photo studio in downtown NYC, and then a DJ duo for $1,100...

Anyone got a lead on a number for Caterings by Wolfgang Puck? Also, has anyone actually used them before? Need the lowdown.

🤦 Well, how could you not know? That's where I got married. P.S. I was just back there for a party, and honestly, the food is incredible. I think I finally realized how good it actually is.👍👍
