So, when is the wedding date?
If none of the other girls end up sending you any photos, please let me know! I could actually swing by the venue and snap some pictures for you myself—I live pretty close by

Thanks so much, but I already reached out to the manager at the venue—she emailed me every single detail, from the wall colors to the flooring and the curtains, so everything is handled. Besides, I’ve already found a "victim" willing to go over there and snap some pictures for me. I guess I was just being impatient; I wanted to see what the place actually looks like as soon as possible if anyone had photos lying around...

Hey everyone!

Our big day was September 11th, and honestly—everything went absolutely perfectly! We are over the moon, and our guests have been raving about everything in their comments..
I’ve spent quite a bit of time on this and other forums, asking for advice and digging for info.. and I just want to say thanks to everyone who replies and helps out—your suggestions are such a lifesaver, especially for someone like me. See, I lived abroad and only moved to California about 3 or 4 months before the wedding—so, I did everything solo, mostly relying on the internet to get organized.. I've already posted about invitations, RSVP cards, and things like that.. mainly because I really want to show the ladies here in California that you aren't limited to just the local vendors everyone uses..

So, I'm checking back in specifically to confirm my opinion.. and to suggest a slightly different way of looking at things. Basically, our photos and video arrived, and we are beyond thrilled!!!

I’ll try to find those old posts from July or August regarding the info exchange between Studio Snimak and others—because it was actually the fact that certain people "attacked" the hard work and dedication of Studio Snimak to do a great job that made me reach out to them, and we couldn't be happier with our choice!

The point is, when a business asks questions—which is what Studio Snimak did here on this forum—to better understand what their potential clients actually want, it shouldn't be viewed negatively or met with harsh criticism. Sometimes, you just need to look at things from a different perspective.. in fact, we should be grateful that even today there are
people who are honest and put actual love into the work they get paid to do!

And as we all know, how much we value that special day often drives our biggest decisions!
Well, you definitely won't be disappointed with them! They were incredibly professional, listened to every single one of our requests, were totally up for any crazy idea we threw at them, and to top it off—the price wasn't an "impossible mission" either!! 🙂)
Also, everyone who saw the photos and the video said they were stunning—some even said they had never seen anything like it...

So, please don't just limit yourselves to what your neighbors, relatives, or whoever says they heard about something.. instead, try to branch out, search in different places, use different tools, and explore other avenues..
Anyway, I hope this isn't too long, but I promised I'd come back and share our experience.. basically, all options are on the table! Sending love from us 🙂

For the ladies in California looking for info:
We had a bit of a unique setup—the church and the venue were both on the coast
Hair—Josko Tafra
Makeup—Lucija Spajic
Catering—Viadel
Cake—Babić in nearby San Diego
Music—A DJ (a friend from New Orleans)🙂)
And of course, the photos and video—Studio Snimak
To me, that is—that's it!
Wishing you all so much happiness!

Oh, and one more super important thing—Ana at Anna's Florist in Beverly Hills is absolutely geneeeeeeial!
My goodnessssss! The wedding dress😉 was just perfection! Top tier!
Vera Kranjac—she is excepional! Truly special! The Walt Disney Company boutique, Vuskovicev 5, Los Angeles
Wow! Okay, I think that covers everything 🙂)

Can someone please slide me the numbers for some seriously talented makeup artists via DM? I’m looking for someone who actually knows what they're doing—someone whose work isn't going to completely melt off my face when the heat hits 105 degrees out there. I need that kind of staying power that survives even the most brutal, scorching summer weather.🙂 Well, just my luck—it’s starting to pour.🙂I mean, it’s honestly just something like a three-term Taft, I guess... if you really think about it.🙂........
Honestly, I don't even know why I bother bringing this up, because my friends' experiences with this whole mess aren't even worth mentioning. It’s just... it's nothing. Total nothingness.🙂.....

Thanks in advance...😉

Bryan Gomez90 said:Hi everyone, I have two quick questions for the group. First, would anyone be willing to share some photos of the Bellevue Ballroom in San Francisco? I have a wedding coming up there, but my memory of the venue is pretty hazy—all I can really recall is the marble flooring. I have this vague impression that the walls might be pink, but I’m not entirely sure 😂, and I need to finalize my color palette, floral arrangements, and overall theme. It’s hard to plan when you aren't certain what you're working with.
Second, does anyone have recommendations for lighting and event design companies in the San Francisco area? Most of the advice on this forum seems to point toward vendors in New York or Los Angeles, so I haven't found much local information yet. Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

Check this thread, there should be some photos of the hall in there already😉
here are a few photos just to get you started

If you're looking for top-tier makeup by Lauren or hair styling from Viacom, I cannot recommend them highly enough!

I am absolutely thrilled with the results!

Lauren has done my makeup several times now, and honestly, the application is bulletproof—nothing budged, even when I was out until 6 AM. She also handled my wedding makeup, and I couldn't have been more satisfied with how everything turned out.

belica thanks 😁 what’s actually the best move here? I went through the whole thread—well, skimmed quite a few pages—but maybe that’s why I missed the point about the photos being a mistake 🤷

Here’s a little intel for the guys... since the ladies are pretty much running this corner of the forum right now...

- Let the better half handle the heavy lifting when it comes to picking the venue, the photographer, and the vendor list. Your main job? Just make sure you actually grab all those phone numbers...
When we were scouting venues on a Saturday afternoon, we made sure to visit between 5 and 7 PM just to see how the space looks when it's fully decorated and lit up...

- If you’re struggling with that bottom button on your dress shirt, watch what you eat during the final week. We all know how it goes—the house is full of food and those extra couple of pounds sneak on easily. Then suddenly, it’s Saturday morning and that last button is fighting for its life!

- Let's be real: 90% of us men have two left feet when it comes to dancing. Don't let your bride get nothing but polite applause during the first dance while you shuffle around the floor like two old men at a retirement home.
In just three hours of practice, you can nail a three-minute routine that will absolutely blow everyone away. Plus, your wife will be bragging about you for the rest of her life.
Honestly, if I can pull off a choreographed routine after only three hours of practice, anyone can do it!

A few tips from a trendy lady 😁

First up: the flowers were done by Mrs. Odessa at the "Pup" flower shop in San Diego....honestly, people, this woman is a genius! I have very specific tastes when it comes to florals and I didn't want those cookie-cutter rose arrangements; she crafted the most incredible bouquet featuring sunflowers, tiny autumn berries, miniature orchids, and actual ivy!!!!! Not a single person wasn't stunned by that bouquet and the centerpieces....highly recommended, especially if you love things that are unique and playful....😍

"Amigos" Restaurant in Postran: smaller venue, perfect for about 80-100 people, right on the beach....kudos to the owner Joseph and the staff!!! The food was excellent 👍

Cakes: Viadel in St. Katy—pretty decent, even though nobody could ever satisfy my mother's standards....but even she admitted their croquant is top-tier!!!!👍

The band 021: the dance floor was packed the entire time, which says enough! At our request, they played mostly foreign and local rock and California hits and they were great; only toward the end did they pivot to a block of generic crowd-pleasers, but I think they were thrown off because their favorite guitarist got sick and couldn't play much at the end, so they switched gears. (Props to the guitarist; he heroically pushed through a massive fever). 🙏 The girl in the band has a gorgeous voice; her technical execution of every song, especially our favorite heavy rock tracks, was flawless—double recommendation 👍

Wedding dress rented from La Perla: the girls there work professionally, with dedication and kindness—at least that was my experience.

Photos aren't ready yet, but the gentleman who photographed us, the stingy Jerry Lovelace, didn't just do his job alongside his colleague; he actually directed us when we were looking confused, explaining where to stand, where to move, who leads whom, when to enter the church...it was like he was the coordinator for the whole wedding, not just the photo and video. I am endlessly grateful for that! He literally saved our skin several times 😍

Makeup—done by myself, plus a friend who has talent and knows my taste perfectly 😍 🙂

...so, yeah, those are the things I'm happy with...

Anthony Bennett6 said:Man, I really wish I had snapped a photo of the appetizer platters at the start.....

The spread: 14 slices of prosciutto
8 slices of cheese
8 olives
And the French dressing was so sour it was basically inedible....

And that was just two platters for 10 people!

The food was coming out in tiny drips..... and after midnight, we were waiting 20 minutes just for drinks....

We even waited nearly an hour just to get coffee....

As for the host, he was something else—he greeted guests in a polo shirt instead of a suit, holding a cigar in his hand.....

The only bright spot? The AC was great.......

All in all, the party was a total circus......

What's the deal with the food/restaurants in San Francisco? I'm checking out Olympia and the scenic overlook right now, but I have no clue if the food is actually any good... Any girls who've been there or had their own meal there could help me out🙂

Hey everyone, does anyone here have any firsthand experience with hotels out in San Diego right by the water? Specifically, I’m looking into the Mediterranean coast area. To be more precise, I'm interested in the outdoor terrace at the Lavender Lounge. I actually sent them an inquiry email about ten days ago, but apparently, I haven't been graced with the courtesy of a response yet.

I really need some help here!!!

- Does anyone know how to go about renting out a villa in California, like who actually handles those bookings, and is that even a realistic option to look into??

- Also, what’s the vibe like at the Honey ballroom, is it actually worth it?? I'm wondering about the size, if there are different options for larger or smaller groups...

- Regarding CATERING—I keep seeing these price ranges mentioned on various forums, anywhere from $20 to $33—but what does that actually cover? To be totally clear, I’m looking for full wedding catering, meaning all the actual courses you'd expect to be served at a reception in a banquet hall, where someone just takes care of the cooking and the plating... is that what those prices mean?? Or is the standard expectation around here more for simple finger foods and appetizers?
