Is there anything more predictable than seeing someone try to manufacture a sense of profound outrage over absolutely nothing? It’s almost impressive, isn't it? We see these endless cycles of manufactured drama where people grab at straws just to feel like they have a moral high ground, even when the ground they're standing on is completely imaginary. Does anyone actually believe this level of performative indignation serves any purpose other than feeding an ego? It feels like we've entered an era where being loud and offended is treated as a substitute for having an actual, coherent thought. At what point do we collectively decide that we're tired of the noise?

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel like their skin is literally being torn apart by these products? Honestly, I can’t even give you an accurate price tag because I’ve bought so much of this stuff over the months that my receipts have likely vanished into some black hole somewhere, but the irritation is very real. 🙂

Thomas Cruz9 said:Gentleotter88, if you're planning this wedding for sometime this year, my best advice is to head over to Aria immediately—their calendar is already booked solid through December.
You mentioned Tina is great, but honestly, I'm torn between her and Ana Grgić. I'm having a hard time deciding which one to pick.

Thanks for the heads-up about Aria! Personally, though, I'm really loving Tina's makeup style.
I actually just tracked down a link to some of her work, so take a look.
Best, 🙂

Has anyone used Amadeo for makeup? They have a page on Facebook.
Thanks!

As for Amadea, I know her makeup services start at $117, and it's about 450 if you go with false lashes. I'm not entirely sure how her work holds up in person, though the photos on Facebook look pretty good. Then again, most of those are just selfies where she's doing her own face, and we all know how easy it is to be your own best critic, so it's hard to tell how she handles everyone else...

I was looking into that too. There aren't really any shots of her working on models, just her doing her own thing. If you check out this link I posted from Tina, there are plenty of models featured. From what I've heard, she exclusively uses Dior products and even earned a certification from them—at least, that's what it looks like from the photos.🙂

Does Tina Kalinic seriously believe that her entire beauty routine can be salvaged by nothing less than Dior? Is she truly under the impression that if it isn't high-end luxury, it simply doesn't count as makeup?

Linda Palmer5 said:ruggedfox16, thanks a ton. Quick question though—did you guys go for the "designer" labels or just stick to the standard stuff? I don't want to sound like a snob, but there’s honestly a massive difference between the high-end pieces and the cheaper ones. With the pricey stuff, the lace doesn't itch against your skin, and the train is way lighter—you don't feel like you're dragging a heavy rug behind you. Still, $3000 is overkill, though $1667 is totally fine... also, at St., they charge extra for little flower girl dresses $133

I actually had a gown from Pronovias once. It was absolutely stunning, and honestly, it stayed in perfect shape—like a solid 5 out of 5. But I don't want to speak for everyone, so your best bet is probably just calling the salon directly and chatting with the owner. She's a sweetheart and will definitely give you all the details over the phone. You can find her number on their Facebook page!

ruggedfox16, that’s the plan. I tracked down the numbers—how far in advance did you book your dress? Honestly, feels way too early to me—the wedding isn't even until October...

Hey everyone! Does anyone here have any experience with wedding dress seamstresses or designers over in Arlington?

I don't remember the exact dates, but if I recall correctly, it was around Lent and the wedding was in October, just like yours. 🙂 It doesn't hurt to check. Honestly, I went in with so many prejudices about their quality and service, but man, was I surprised. I only went to Laperla. I picked my dress right away, then went back for one last fitting on Thursday before the big day (they let me in the second they opened), waited about half an hour for the dress, and headed home 🙂. Even considering the price and $2333, my take is that you won't spend much more on $800 gas (especially if you're also paying for that little flower girl dress).

Sure, Amanda is gorgeous, so there’s no denying she’s going to look stunning in photos—that part isn't even up for debate. But setting her aside for a moment, I find myself wanting something a bit more grounded. I’d love to see what a girl looks like when she’s all done up but doesn't possess those perfectly symmetrical, "magazine-ready" features—you know, someone with an irregular nose or less conventional facial lines. To me, those are actually the images worth seeing.

Well, Target has a 30% off sitewide sale right now, so you might snag a better deal there... though personally, I think Trader Joe's usually beats them on price. Just hit up both and see what happens... :-)

Hey girls... I wanted to pick your brains for a second. I was just looking into lighting options for the wedding reception and got a quote for $1667... honestly, it feels a little steep to me, if you know what I mean. What do you all think? 🙂

I’m not entirely sure who you reached out to for those lighting quotes... Mediarent is definitely on the pricier side, though I know Semper Fi and Rabbit Rock tend to be a bit more budget-friendly. Then again, it really all depends on the specific gear list you're putting together. It might be worth checking in with a few other vendors just to get a better sense of the market rates before you commit...

I was browsing that site I mentioned earlier for Tina Kalinic, and honestly, there are so many different looks on there. You should definitely go take a look.

A girl mentioned a few pages back that she snagged a discount of $267 on some lighting gear from the wedding fair for Semper FI, so you might want to check that out. Just to give you an idea of where things stand price-wise, I checked with RentAll and they were quoting me $667 for a fog machine, while Semper FI was asking 500, and Rabbit Rock had it for $133...

So, I went to the wedding fair and Rabbit Rock is asking for $2000, but honestly, it really depends on how many people are in the room, the size of the venue, if it's right in town or if they have to drive out to some remote spot... but my husband and I could tell immediately that the guy explaining everything actually knows his stuff, which is why we liked them even more...

Is that the one located down by the marina?
I picked up some of their flyers a while back, so I can check my house to see if I still have them somewhere.
